Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell has signed a 3 year contract extention which keeps him at the club till the end of the 2009 season. Did a good job stabilising a sinking ship last year and this year he's gonna take us up automatically. He deserves a chance to manage us in the premiership .

Stumbled since he signed the contract it would appear. He's done a good job at Leeds but getting through the play offs will be tough. Don't count your chickens yet...

He's done a great job in adverse circumstances whatever transpires this season at Elland Road.

cant believe that after doing great to catch Sheffield Utd, we have thrown it away...but if we hit a run of good form now, it should take us through the playoffs back to the promised land

credit where credits due..he has literally had to build a new team in less than 2 years and has us on the verge of the premiership...only kelly and bakke left from the old team...and for the first year he hadnt a bob to spend....fully deserves the contract and keep up d good work

While I think that Blackwell has done reasonably well, I always had the impression that he signed a lot of very average players especially in his first season (Joachim, Carlisle to name but 2)
I also thought that when money was made available to him he bought very similar players. I remember at one stage they must've had about 7 strikers on the books and he'd paid decent money for half of them. Robbie Blake cost £800,000, Rob Hulse cost £1.1m and David Healy cost another million.
£500,000 went on Sean Gregan in midfield and they were a few others dotted about as well that turned out to be less than great signings. It's not all his fault and like I say, he has done reasonably well in my book but a lot of his signings for me have been either poor players or paying over the odds for half decent ones.

Last season he didn't have a team so literaly had to sign anyone who was available free or very cheap and hope it came off. Healy cost nearer to the 600,000 mark including add ons. The mans done a fantastic job to rescue a ship which was sinking rabidly.
