Lester agrees Limerick switch

March 6, 2006

Well-travelled midfielder John Lester has put pen to paper on a deal at eircom League First Division club Limerick FC.

Lester had spells at Bohemians, Monaghan United and Drogheda United before joining Waterford United last season.

Out of contract from the end of the campaign, and with a change of manager at the RSC, Lester was always likely to move on, with Limerick stepping in to tie the 23-year-old to a one-year deal.

Lester will join former Waterford teammates Pat Purcell, Kevin Waters and Colm Heffernan at Hogan Park for the 2006 campaign, but he will be ineligible for the First Division opener against Kildare County on Friday by dint of a suspension carried over from the end of last season.

never seen this guy play but he sounded like a class act when he was at drogheda. i couldn't figure out why ye didn't challenge last year but with the addition of lester, heffo&purcell there'll be absolutely no excuses for NOC if ye don't make a big impact this year
