As you probably know, he's on loan here at Southampton.
He's done alright, but has this tendancy to slow everything down. He gets the ball and seems to dwindle on what to do next with it, and if under the slightest bit of pressure he hurriedly gets rid of the ball, usually directly toward the opposition.
He seems to play it safe, going back or sideways, rather than looking for the killer pass forward.
His crossing and set pieces are good though, and when he does look up and tries to ping a few passes about with a bit of confidence, it goes quite well.
Basically he's showing flashes of what he could be, without yet delivering.
Since we've got Chaplow in on loan from West Brom and Matt Oakley has been fit, Potter has been restricted to sub appearances, which is about right as Chaplow and Oakley are far more accomplished players, which you might expect from Oakley, but Chaplow is only the same age as Potter.
