That might just be your newsagent's preference as a frightening amount of people chose to steal the free contents of newspapers priced from €2 and downwards.

I heard it was coming out tomorrow. Yeah mirror one is ****e, but it gets my blood flowing coz it means we are coming to the start of the season so got really excited when I got it this morning!

As for them being behind the counter, it says on the front of the mirror to ask the newsagent so its the papers policy not the newsagents.

I agree tho....bloody students whether mature or not....(oops I work in adult ed so maybe I shouldnt say things like that!)

Wondered how long it would be before Eircom League fans started complaining about a free Eircom League magazine. ;)

True. We should be grateful for the publicity....thank you Irish Daily Mirror....grovel grovel grovel...

Next year give more room to the Mons or else!

Its the same PFAI one as last year. Fair play and all but it was merely foreword by stephen McGuiness, page on each team with the basic facts, squad, key player profile, manager profile.
Possibly aimed more at the armchair footy fan rather than eL regulars.
That's a good thing i supppose but hopefully the Star one will have a few articles with analysis, predictions and interviews etc.

Does it have all the full backs mixed up again this year? Last year all the right backs were on the left of the predicted line-ups and vice versa.

I thought it was really poor. Some of the information was wrong.

Its the PFAI though lads ... the Mirror just make it available with their paper i'd imagine, there are a few things wrong with it actually ... i dont think we'll ever see a proper one.

The official eircom League 2006 Season Guide will be published in tomorrow’s (Friday March 3rd) Irish Daily Star.

The 64-page, full-colour magazine features an exclusive interview with Republic of Ireland Senior International Manager Steve Staunton on his thoughts on the eircom League, his plans to assess the international prospects of the cream of the domestic game’s talent and on eircom League players who’ve moved on to clubs in the Championship, Premiership and SPL.

The guide includes a two-page feature on each Premier Division club which comprises a season preview article, player focus, manager interview, full fixture list, club info, contact and travel details and ten-year League record.

Each First Division club has a full-page feature which, just like the Premier Division teams, comprises a season preview article, player focus, manager interview, full fixture list, club info, contact and travel details and ten-year League record. There’s also an extended feature on Shamrock Rovers as they face into their first season out of the top flight and on Dundalk who’ll be playing their first full season on the artificial surface at Oriel Park.

There are also features on the eircom League’s top strikers; Premier Division and First Division previews, the full and complete transfer list, amalgamated league tables since 1985, the League Roll of Honour since 1922, a look at the Setanta Sports Cup, a feature on the men in black – the eircom League referees and a report on the Irish contingent – including former Cork City strikers Shane Long and Kevin Doyle – at Reading.

The official eircom League 2006 Season Guide – free with tomorrow’s Irish Daily Star.

Really looking forward to the Star tomoro!

Hope they dont make what I see as a gaff like the Mirror mag did....they have an ad for RTE on the back cover. Nothing wrong there I hear u say, but this is a magazine to promote the game in Ireland and hopefully encourage people to go to the matches, this ad talks bout how u can have all the results, news etc in your own home! Armchairs sports fans how are ya!

I still miss the Annual. :(

Best part was always the All-Time Premier Division League Table with the running points total since 1985 for all teams. Note to Delaney: Surely this is the only fair method of selecting next season's Prim-Éire Liga teams. :D

I agree whole heartedly with my non biased friend.

In fairness you'd think the PFAI might be able to get fairly up to date squad lists for all teams rather than just incomplete ones for the premier and none for the first.

I may have been still asleep, but I thought I woke up to the voice of Pat Dolan telling me the Star one is out today.
I don't normally wake up to the voice of Dolan, mind.

And people thought Dolan wasn't as passionate as the Waterford fans.

Anyone get the magazine yet?
