Has anyone looked into the FAI 10 year ticket scheme on their website - at first glance it seems expensive at €7500 for every game for the next 10 years, but I hav'nt calculated it out per game.
Anyone know if there would be any other advantage to this scheme over the tried and tested block booking - I presume that will be staying as it is ?

At an average of 5 home games a year its €150 per game!! I believe you are guaranteed an away ticket for each game>

For any Block Booker it is a bad deal. I am of course assuming that the BB will continue indefinitely. In theory it could be discontinued at any stage.

If you don't have tickets or have plenty of money and want good seats then it is a way in.

I am not aware of any guarantee of away tickets. The scheme in 1994 for Eircom Park did guarantee major finals tickets although the only one we reached after the launch was the 2002 WC where Irish tickets weren't a problem. In reality I suspect 10 year tickets holders would be ahead of BBers but I'm not aware of it being confirmed.

Ticket office told me that 10 yr ticket holders got priority for away tickets, but the only game in years there was a problem with was the 1st game in Basle. I doubt if theyll ever do away with the bb scheme as it guarantees sell outs for all friendlies as well. All on the waiting list will probably get them for the new stadium and if they dont take up tickets for each game theyll lose them. Still think well be hard pressed to sell 50,000 tickets for the likes of San MArino / Faoes etc and friendlies unless there tied into the bb.

Ten year ticket is a joke, Seven and a Half grand for an average of what, 7 games a year? For this amount you'd want to be getting Rugby Internationals, Soccer Internationals and Concerts. It's crazy, even if you wished to attend the FAI cup final you wouldnt get in with yer 10 year ticket.

Insane, wonder how many they've sold?

The ten year tickets are aimed at corporate people. As far as I'm concerned the more money the FAI can get out of them the better. Also, I'm glad that they'll be in their own seperate section and won't be annoying me.
