Anyone know what the figures were from last night?

Portadown v Cork City looked between 500-700 as was smaller than last year 1000 odd.

It's buried in the Setanta thread somewhere.

3,800 Linfield-Derry
500 Portadown-Cork
1,700 Shels-Glens and Drogs-Dungannon.

All very rough.

Papers said 1,500 at Tolka. Didn't see or hear any figure for Drogs.

Poor attendances really, apart from Windsor. Mental to think that Derry took more fans to Belfast than Cork and Portadown had COMBINED !

Well there is distance involved there aswell. Its much easier to tackle a 1-2 hour journey on a Monday (skip off work two hours early and you're done) than a 5-6 hour journey (which is a whole day no matter what way you look at it)

Being honest lads, i dont mind it now because its giving it a chance to get established, its the football side that is really the most important part. The crowds and that will come. And being the first set of matches may be a part to play in it.

I honestly thought there were more at Tolka :( Perhaps not.

Yeh so did I, but after seeing the pics from the game on the Glens web I now realise that it was a poor crowd. Anyway, I don't think the crowds will improve if the fixtures stay on Mondays and Tuesdays. We need weekend fixtures but that ain't going to happen unless the IL change to summer soccer or can agree to play some games on a fixed weekend!!

With a much-reduced capacity at the Cross next Monday, it could be a sell-out.
Not that there's been much advertising about.

For league or Setanta or both?
Think i payed €10 into Tolka last year with the i.d.

+ I thought Setanta set the prices.

So could say Portadown got smaller crowd than normal & others larger than average crowd.

Yes they do, I paid it and it was only 8 euro. I guess they just despise people from Cork or something :p
