MONAGHAN UNITED WOMEN
Despite the seemingly poor results in their first 2 games, Monaghan United’s Women’s team are going from strength to strength. They have played really well in both of those games against two of the top teams from Northern Ireland. Their next challenge is against Armagh City on Monday 28th February with an 8pm kick off in Armagh. Armagh are the current holders of the Greater Belfast Cup and will be another tough test for the women. Manager Liam McCarey and Coach Chris McBride both believe that the girls are learning more by playing strong opposition instead of playing weaker teams and “winning by a cricket score”.

After they play Armagh, the women’s team will take on Drogheda United’s Women’s team at United Park on Sunday March 5th.

GIRLS MINI LEAGUES
Monaghan United’s Under 16 girls joined forces with Under 16’s from all over the county to represent Monaghan at the recent Under 16 Girls Blitz at the MDL in Navan last Saturday. Four of the United Girls were on the team which made it to the final of the Blitz and were beaten by a strong Dundalk team. This was the girls first outing as a team and everyone is very proud of their performance on the day. Well done girls. Thanks also to Orla Callan and Mary Croakin for going along and helping the Monaghan Squad on the day.

This Saturday things are back to normal with Mini Leagues for all girls Under 16 and Under 13 at the Astro Park at Century Homes Park from 11am. For further information ring Julie-Ann on 085 7147500.
