View Full Version : Positive Setanta Cup tales
Just thought i'd start thread for people to post positive stores. (Any lurking journalists might balance their articles then...)
Already posyed elsewhere but I must say treatment of city fans in Portadown last night was first class.
watched it on telly in a pub and had a nice packet of pringles
very positive vibes all round.
ps
hope the journos take up my story - maybe the herald? I mean how much stories about Joe Reilly can one paper run with!?!??!

600 Glens fans in Tolka last night and not a comment out of place. Totally outsung the home support although totally outclassed on the pitch.

They'll have to do alot more than that to get some credibility ... they could start with a balanced article on the Setanta Cup games .... but something tells me ... well something tells me they'll never be credible ... shame really !!

Are you for real? There wasn't a peep out of them for the last 30 minutes. Anyway the new stand doesn't help the atmosphere at Tolka ;)
Last night we a great night to be a reds(wo)man

Are you for real ???
Im not claiming there was 1000's of Shels fans there last night but the couple of hundred singing did a better job then the few Glentoran fans.

Do you sit/stand in the new stand higgins? Don't forget what you hear in there is very different to what the rest of the ground hears given the pathetic vocals of the stand, from elsewhere it could have sounded like the Glentoran fans were outsinging us.

Aye that was a laugh, running into two different sets of fans and us all heading off in different directions hoping for good results from all games

Accept the last 30 mins they were quiet but the home support were totally outsung prior to that IMO.
"Shall we sing a song for you" "Your supposed to be at home" all clearly audible. No axe to grind with Shels. Will always support Shels v any non eircom League club.
Football wise Shels were a different class.

I suppose it depends where you were in the ground. Normally when you're with the singing crowd, you don't hear the others
