Welcome to the Premier Division--Sligo Rovers.

Drogs last gave of this season is in Sligo and a group of us want to book into a hotel/guesthouse in the vacinity of the grounds. We will probably travel by rail so somewhere within walking distance of the Showgrounds would be nice. Can you advise us? Is the railway station far from the groungs?

not that far from it at all.
10/15 minute walk

plenty of hotels about, should have no problem if u google for them.

dont trust the train...it is liable to break down...as for accomodation...the great southern beside the station or the sligo city hotel beside the town hall

No problems with the Train now...

The southern Hotel Right beside both the Showgrounds and Railway station.
City Hotel - Town Centre
Riverside Hotel - Close to Centre
Inishfree Hotel - Town Centre - Probably cheapest


There are more around outside the town centre, Raddisson, Sligo Park google.. Plenty of B&B's around too.

The City hotel is great value and right in the town centre. Perfect if u bring ur girlies coz new shopping centre is across the road. Also limited parking behind the hotel if u drive up.

Not sure if will be available in November but a good alternative for a nite in Sligo is Yeats Village houses and apartments. Last time we stayed was €20 pp in a great house with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Joy of a house is u can party all nite without hotel giving out!
