I hope ye do get it, but ye sound a bit unsure. We'll bring anything up to 500 for this one, so there should be a fantastic atmosphere.
It would be as local a derby as we'll get this year. Good luck with the application.

We should be fine for the licence appeal, if the accounts had gone to the right place we'd have it.
A home game and a local derby. It's a good fixture to kick off the season.

I think Sligo were relgated when we got promoted, so you could be right - probably why there isn't a greater rivalry as I think we are the closest club to Sligo.

some banter at work with sligo rovers and town supporters workin together now. there should be a huge crowd at the game.
nows the time for any new recruits to come to section o for the new season! we are in need of new blood and new chants so anyone that hates where they are in the stand are welcome to come over our side. we dont want sligo rovers to show us up on the first day of the season- i will get slagged off for the next few weeks if we make an arse of ourselves!

I first remember the Easy chant being sung, when Derek Davis got a charade right on Ronan Collins' charade show Play the Game or am I showing my age here? Lovejoy you can sod off.... loved it when he was hosting his chat show wearing a Ramones t-shirt, and some comedian asked him to name any of his albums. The posing tw@t couldnt name any. :)

What’s the capacity of the town side stand in Flancare Park?
Around 800-1000 Rovers supporters are expected to make the journey

Longford Town and Sligo Rovers get underway in the Premier divison tonight, the last two teams to kick-off in the top flight. It may be a difficult season ahead for both clubs so a good first result will do the world of good.
Longford Town vs Sligo Rovers
(Flancare Park - 7:30 pm - eircom League Premier division)
Referee: Alan Kelly
Longford Town managed fifth place last season but it was far from a good season as rumours of dressing room bust-ups and lacklustre performances prevailed. The lowest scoring team last term with last a goal a game, they will be hoping for better this time out.
Robbie Martin is set to make his competitive debut for the Town and some of the onus will be on him to bag a goal or two.
Sligo make their return to the top flight and manager Sean Connor has invested in a number of full-time professionals. Based on the numbers, Sligo will be looking for a good finish but trips to the likes of Longford will be where they make or break their season.
Connor will hope to call from a full strength squad.
Previous meeting(s) : Sligo Rovers 0-2 Longford Town (21/06/2005)
IrishFootballOnline.com Prediction: Draw.
