Well as we can see above the first round of matches are over, but we haven't done as well as we first thought we would be doing at the start of the season, but we are still there or there abouts, and if we can improve our performances for the second phase of matches we will still be in contention for the first division honours.

Here is a comparision between where we were last season at this point compared to this season.

2005: P 9 W2 D 3 L 4

This gave us a points total so far of 9 points and had us lying in 9th position.

2006: P 9 W2 D 6 L 1

At the moment as things stand we have a points total of 12 and we are lying in 3rd position. So, from my point of view our points total hasnt improved much and with the fact that we have only won the same amount of games this season in comparision to last season, things will have to drastically improve if we are to be playing in the top teir of football in Ireland next season.

Well we are now half way through the season and although we haven’t had the best of seasons so far we are still sitting nicely in the table and with the new manager in Tony Cousins, we seem to be slowly improving with us just stringing over first 2 wins in a row over the past week.

Here is a comparison between where we were last season at this point compared to this season.

2005: P 18 W 5 D 5 L 8.

This gave us a point’s total so far of 20 points and had us lying in 7th position.

2006: P 17 W6 D 9 L 2

At the moment as things stand we have a points total of 27 and we are lying in 4th position but just 3 points off the top position. So, from my point of view our points total has improved slightly and with the fact that we have won around about the same amount of games this season in comparison to last season, things will hopefully continue to improve if we want to be playing in the top tier of football in Ireland next season.

Well we have just finished the third round of games and are now into the final straight with nine games remaining (5 at home, 4 away). Like everybody else in the division, we have had our ups and downs and this shows itself in the table with 3 or 4 teams still in the running for the title, since nobody seems to be wanting to breakaway at the top.

Here is a comparison between where we were last season at this point compared to this season.

2005: P 27 W 9 D 8 L 10.

This gave us a point’s total so far of 20 points and had us lying in 7th position.

2006: P 27 W 12 D 11 L 4

At the moment as things stand we have a points total of 47 and we are lying in 3rd position but just 2 points off the top position. So, from my point of view our points total has improved nicely (35 points at this stage last season) and with the fact that we have won the last 3 in a row and hopefully another win this Friday at home against Monaghan who are second bottom in the league, things will hopefully continue in this way if we want to be playing in the top tier of football in Ireland next season.

It feels good that my bet at the start of the season is still on (E50 on united to win the league at 12/1):)
