From the Sligo Champion:

The Chairman of Sligo Rovers has given a firm undertaking that problems relating to the non availability of seats for members at some games in the Showgrounds will be addressed before next season.

The matter was raised at the Annual General Meeting of the Sligo Football and Sports Development Society at the Radisson SAS Hotel, where it was claimed that members were forced to stand at F.A.I. Cup matches and at the last home fixture of the season when Rovers lifted the First Division championship against Athlone Town.

Mr. Mickey Feeney commented that at these matches children and non-members were in the members' area and members-including former players-had to stand up.

The Chairman confirmed that the issue would be dealt with by the Management Committee.

During the discussion, officials stressed that there was a distinct difference between members and season ticket holders.

Appeals were also made for additional stewards and more volunteers to assist the club in the coming season.
