Leicester tie Sheehan to new deal

Coca-Cola Championship side Leicester City have tied Republic of
Ireland under-21 international Alan Sheehan to a new contract
which will keep him at the Walkers Stadium until the end of the
2007/08 season.
The 19-year-old left back made the first-team breakthrough at the
end of last season.
And, despite a difficult campaign this time around – his side are
struggling in the bottom four of the Championship table, have
recently sacked manager Craig Levein while he has lost his place
in the side to former Blackburn Rovers man Nils-Eric Johansson –
the Athlone native has agreed a new deal.
Caretaker manager Rob Kelly said: “Alan has managed to break
through to the first-team squad this season and he is certainly very
much part of the club’s plans for the future.
“He is a talented young defender and he will now be able to
continue his progress with the club over the next two years.”
