He could lose the club in a poker game, sleep with the chairmans wife and father kids to all the players wives. That could get get him the sack:D

He could be duped by a fake sheikh into revealing gossip about Derry players and his plans for the future. Alternatively he could air his controversial views on reincarnation. :D

matthews if the crowds keep stayin away..

it's an Eircom League team not in either Derry or Cork outside Dublin... the crowds will stay away unless you start winning the League.... it's a given!
After all it's not so long ago that your average crowds were 75 :p

... and it wont be too long till were back in that situation. the fact is even though weve won some silverware in the last few seasons, crowds have been falling for the town, i for am sick to the teeth of freezing my balls off in flancare park to watch the brand of football matthews plays, and i know im not the only one.

Rico is quite popular amongst City fans now (so was Dolan though!) and although there will be serious pressure to retain the title I can't see too many people calling for his head unless we have an absolutely disasterous start.
I wouldn't want to lose him anyway myself because he's better than any other manager in the EL at the moment.

Rico is a leeside legend, loved by players, and fans alike. The most intelligent and articulate manager I have ever seen or heard anywhere.

As for the other fella, i'd say while he was manager of city yeah ppl liked him definitely, he said pretty much what ppl wanted to hear, with his rebel army, i love cork its a magical city BS, but that was only until the truth about PD started to come out. Once ppl realised what a self-serving snake he was then public opinion rightly turned.. Dolan could probably count the number of fans he has in Cork on 2 or 3 fingers now.

Keep him away from the EL

So it's our gain and your loss he didn't get offered the Rovers job:D

Actually I'd say the opposite - 3 years of a hate campaign, interupted by our only senior trophies, ever.

Hate is a very strong word macy i would never say that i hated alan matthews. I dont think he is a good football mngr but i dont hate him.

YOUR OBVIOUSLY WAY TOO YOUNG. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN WE DREAMED OF AVERAGE CROWDS OF 75, ASK ANYONE WHO WAS THERE 10 YEARS AGO!

Does any Pats fans seriously demand that they are going to win the Cup or finish in the top 3?

For gods sake lads steady on. You signed paul keegan from ourselves and not only have ye signed a pensioner who is well past you are flying the man in from scotland.:o Honestly like ourselves all you can hope for is mid table. We should be pushing tfor top 4 but alas is unlikely such is the lack of ambition from certain quarters

In fairness now, Paul Keegan and Mark Rutherford are past it. Molloy is heading that way himself. Anto Murphy is a decent signing, but that's about it. Can't see ye doing aswell as you seem to think ye will do.

Noel O'Connor to be gazumped by Dolan when he can't get anything out of last years Waterford team.
Or you could possibly insert Cobhs Henderson instead of O'Connor. Huge pressure on a lot of Div1 clubs this year.

Mark Rutherford was brilliant last year even surrounded by a bunch of
ballbags

ill asssume you meant to quote me...

actually i was there, i remember my first game being a cup 1/4 final against athlone roung 94, 95? back when they were going fairly well and we had a cash balance of 64p in the acc on dublin street...

dosent mean we should settle for the situation we have now where were the ONLY club with a part time manager and no full time admin staff. whats wrong with wanting a bit more? i know its the el an all, but are u seriously tellin me thats the best football we can play? i just think were sellin ourselves short.. do we want the best years of our clubs history to be remembered for longball tactics and poor crowds (the lowest bar ucd in the prem div, despite the fact that we generally have finished well above the danger zone and won three trophys in the last three years??)
