From the Sligo Champion:
The Sligo woman who has become the centre of RTE’s Podge and Rodge’s affection has made a plea to the bachelor duo to ‘come and get me.’
The characters of the comic hit show which is screened on RTE2 on Monday and Tuesday nights have spoken about how smitten they have become for Aine Chambers whose website featuring herself and scenic Sligo sights has been featured on recent episodes.
“I’d love to appear on the show. I’ve been a fan of Podge and Rodge for years,” said Aine.
Since her website has been featured by the caustic farmers, Aine has become something of a celebrity with thousands logging on to catch a glimpse of what Sligo has to offer.
Podge and Rodge’s latest feature on Aine resulted in an astonishing 45,000 hits on her website, www.sligozone.net yesterday (Tuesday).
While Podge and Rodge can be crude and their humour biting at times, Aine has taken it all in her stride.
“To be featured on Podge and Rodge is an honour for me really. They have given me so many laughs over the years that I don’t mind in the least being slagged off by them now,” said Aine.
She began her website eight years ago as a hobby which neatly combined two of her past-times, computers and photography.
“I was looking at other websites and I decided to set up my own and to feature Sligo on it,” she said.
Each week Aine features a different part of Sligo’s heritage and beauty having commenced with a page on the Abbey.
In the past two years, Aine has added video clips to her page which also features up to date news about Sligo.
On a normal day there would be 3,000 to 4,000 hits on her website but the figures have literally gone through the roof since it tickled the fancy of Rodge and Podge.
“Podge and Rodge have always been heroes of mine and it’s amazing really to be featured on their show,” she said.
And she wouldn’t have to think twice if offered a chance to appear alongside the brothers on the TV show co-hosted by Lucy Kennedy.
“I’d love to. I haven’t heard from them but I live in hope,” said Aine.
She also receives hundreds of e-mails a day which she attempts to reply to.
“At the moment because of the Podge and Rodge interest I’m getting so many e-mails that they are just backing up,” she said.
While she admits she’s receiving a lot of attention she points out that Sligo is also getting a lot of promotion.
“Sligo is such a beautiful county and I’m only too happy to promote it,” said Aine who works a nightshift in a local factory.
She funds the website herself and never expected it would become so successful.
“When I started it only got a couple of hundred hits a day but It’s so popular at the moment. I’m receiving e-mails from all around the world,” she said.
And in her hometown she is also becoming more recognisable.
“Everyone is so positive and I’m so glad to be able to continuing promoting a county I love so well,” she said.

So are the numbers climbing through the top of her house then. How do people (and I know you didn't write it Sligoman) fail to understand the meaning of the word literally?

Dunno if this is mentioned in the thread already, but the Phoenix has suggested that there's been goings-on between an Irish film company and the lads.

got the Best of DVD for Christmas. latched on to it very late but very funny stuff. best guests: Keith Duffy was surprisingly hilarious, and the Johnny Vegas interview is gas. The best guests are always ****ed!
worst guest: that metrosexual ponce with the double barrelled name. Gavin Lambe-Murphy think his name is....
cant wait for the Bogmannay special!

How good does Amanda Brunker look presenting it!
She's after losing some amount of weight and she looks savage!
Does any one over the age of 14 still watch this show? Seems like the joke ended a couple of years ago.

yeah, there was a documentary a few years ago on BBC2 about the rise and fall of the lads mag. FHM, Maxim and Loaded were among the biggest selling magazines in the world in the late 90's. Then competitors like Stuff, Gear, Front, etc came in an stole a lot of their readership. On top of that the guys that had bought them in the early 20's got into their late 20's and 30's, and all that comes with it (mortgage, family, etc) and stopped buying the mags. So they started targeting a younger audience with shorter articles, and less of them. And using "dude" a lot.
Now, since the likes of GQ and Mens Health are outselling them, they've brought in a "nipple ban" so the models aren't entirely naked, and more articles about money, health, etc, to try and bring back the audience they originally had.
All of which is just spin, seeing as how FHM and Loaded own Zoo and Nuts.

The first season of podge and rodge was good because they caught people off gaurd but now every one going on it knows whats going to happen and P&R will just make mickey jokes all night, Flickes over to see that page 3 bird claire tully on it had to turn it off it was so bad.
To answer my own question - apparently a lot of people watch this as it was 2nd most popular RTE 2 show the week before last. Katherine Lynch's rubbish was 5th.

I used to download this show but then it got old and now its not available for download. However, I would like to see Razor on it (I have Big Jack, McAteer, and Cascarino on my computer)

If someone could please download the clip to IVR in Real Player and send it to me it'd be much appreciated, its not viewable outside of Ireland

Mary McEvoy, Donna McCaul, Blath Ni Chough?? Don't think so.
Show has snowballed down a hill this season, very poor quality presenters, and boring guests. Going down the pan fast.

As mentioned above the 1st and possibly the 2nd series were good as most of the guests were not expecting the dirty and cheeky jokes from a couple of puppets(also outakes on the dvds were class). But it has long since died a death and it also commited the sin of convincing the Irish public that Lucy Kennedy is a good presenter.

Loaded at the top of it's game in the mid nineties was better than any of them. Smart enough to be self depricative and mindful of it's raison d'etre* without any of the pretense of the likes of GQ or FHM.
Some of the regular features like P0rn-a-likes/Celebrity Shags were absolutely hilarious. (anyone remember Gazza taking Ruby Wax up the jacksy while Phil Collins keeps her quiet?:D)
*my personal favourite (on several levels) was a topless spread and interview, on location in the Australian outback, with a very pretty idiot who used be in neighbours in the early nineties (she was Annaleese' sister).
The articles title ..."Picnic at Banging C0ck"
