Well not much to say i suppose.Pre season games alot of substitutions......bit of a howler from Ryan for Crowe's goal.Good crowd there for a friendly it must be said.I can see a very big crowd for the first league match.
Good run out nevertheless....wycome should be interesting.

good crowd alright(650 maybe?), at least 4 times what was at yer 1st friendly v bohs last year. surprised how poor galway were. if shels had byrne, cahill & to a lesser extent crowe startin it cud easily have been 6. murphy was awful, if he keeps hitting free kicks like that there be no shortage of footballs for the residents of dun na coirbe. stevie gavin was very quiet too. taut foley&ryan done ok. i think galway defo need a cupla more quality players. prob a bit harsh to be so critical considering how early it is&the obvious class of shels. joey ndo was a step above. shels 3rd goal was quality

I think Galway have positives to take from the game. I think that you have to remember they are only back and well, Shels have a squad with a good deal of depth. Our bench was excellent. And the three young lads seem to be quality too. I hope to see alot from them this season!!!
Have a report on Shelsweb of the game.

tells its own story. Shels were the better side on the night, but our bench is very weak. Players who didn't make an impact last year have no business with the panel this year.
On the plus side, enocuraging crowd. Our jersey offer has gone down really well. 100 replica tops came in on Friday, 10 left after Friday and our stand in the Galway Shopping Centre today. We will be getting in more stock for next weekend.

Good crowd for a pre-season friendly. There was over 400 paying customers plus the season ticket holders.

Getting back on topic lads - what was the line-up on Friday? Shels seemed to have a strong team out so I wouldn't be too worried about the result, especially as 2 of the goals were in the last 10 minutes.

Ryan is a goalkeeper....he's 17 from Clare and made an absoloute howler the last night.:o
Lian Mckenna plays in defence....he's with the U21's.....very much a squad player.

Decent crowd there alright the last night lads and the pitch was in great nick, ye were unlucky not to equalise in the first half with the goal line clearance but Shels were a step above. As has been said though, hardly surprising when you see the quality they had on the bench, let alone starting. I thought Foley battled well in midfield and Gavin made some good runs down the right but ye didn't have much of a cutting edge up front. Still, ye worked hard and it took the two late goals to kill the game completely.
Just wondering, were there programmes on sale at the game lads, I just missed the kick-off and when I went through the turnstiles I thought there would be someone there selling them but there wasn't. I thought then that there might not have been any because it was a friendly?

No programmes.....just Lotto and Season tickets on Sale.
but they all went very quickly. The crowd was over 700 just waiting for a UCD or Dublin City Fan to come on attacking us over **** crowds.
