These could possibly up somewhere already.
A total number of 336689 paid into premier games
77405 in 1st div games.
Biggest attendance of season was 8058 for the cork derry game.
933000 was the total number of viewers for televised league games.
553000 watched the fai cup games
1112000 watched the televised european games involving irish teams.
According to Eamon Naughton, the honorary treasurer, the league broke even in 2005.
All of the above is taken from the star.
Considering our average attendance for league games was at least 1700 & we brought 200+ to most away games the 1st division figure is pretty rank.

A couple of points to tie this into the attendances thread for anyone interested...
1) I have a total 346386 for the Premier, missing three games. So about 4% too high. Not too bad.
2) I recall Cork fans swearing blind there were at least 9000, probably 10000 at that Derry game!
3) I have 85750 for the First Division, missing 16 games. So say 90,000. About 17% too high. The biggest average by far was Sligo (the next two were Limerick and Galway, who had a lot of official figures), so it seems the Sligo figures were overstated by a fair bit! Cue more Connacht flame wars...
Still, telly figures are decent.

Cork fans are guilty of over-estimation at times but that "official" figure for the league decider is too low by about 1500. Anyone there on the night will vouch for that.

The number of people who didn't "pay in" to the league decider was significant, entering through a variety of means

Then obviously they don't count. And nobody's interested in people who don't pay

Official capacity is 7000-7500. Its ludicrous to say only 1000 extra at the league decider game. Shed is probably officially at 1000 but anyone that was in or around it that night will know extra 1000 in it as was so packed.
TV attendances for the european games shows what a draw they are these days. Even eL knockers like watching irish teams beat foreigners on tv.

:D :D :D
Agree about the first being pretty poor attendance wise though, Monaghan, Kilkenny, Athlone, Dublin City all struggling to break the 200 mark when I was there. (In the case of Monaghan and Dublin City it was the 100 mark)!!!

We can't be too smug though after one season - we dreamed of a bumper crowd of 100 the season before last. :)

Indeed, I had been thinking of editing and pointing that out but you beat me to it, proving us Limerick fans are quite the honest bunch and that therefore our club definitely deserves a franchise in the new Coca Cola Mastercard Soccerball SuperLeague the suits are planning :p

I swear blind that there was at least 9,000, probably 10,000 at the City-Derry match.

I'd say around 10,000
BUT they weren't all paying customers
