Whatever happened with Benni? Is he still here or did he get deported? Is he still playing?

Still in Ireland and still a hoop.

Played for tallaght IT last night.

Won his appeal against deportation, my understanding is he is safe for the moment, but the issue may arise again in the future.

Thanks, good to hear. If he is any good I'm sure Gareth Farrelly will snap him up soon enough ;) just joking. Fair play anyway glad he's still around.

no, scully manages them as well. a pile of our u18's just togged out for them for the day, a kind of trial match. how would under 18's be attending a third level institution anyway?

Without going off-topic, some students these days are doing their Leaving Cert at the age of 16. The Leaving Cert is on in the month of June. Many colleges start up in September. So some of these students would be 17 while others could still be 16 therefore making them available for U-18 schoolboy football!

 ;)

They're rovers players so therefore *yogi bear voice* they are smarter than the average under 18 year old.

If they were smarter than the average under 18 year old - then what are they doing playing for Rovers - surely they should be out looking for a proper worthwhile job? ;)

With the age groups, you can be 19 playing under 18 football, i was. If your 17 on the first of january this year, you can play until the end of the 2006/2007 seasons, so you could have been 18 on January 3rd 2006, and 19 on January 3rd 2007, but still playing under 18 football till may 2007.

Yes, I know I am aware of that!

I was just making the point of how young someone could be and still be in College whilst playing U-18 football!
