St Johns Press Release
As part of our continuing 25th year anniversary celebrations St. John’s are hosting Sligo Rovers in Cuilbeg on 18th February. A St. John’s XI will take on Sligo Rovers the 2005 Eircom League First Division Champions.
This is Sligo Rovers first pre-season friendly in Sligo and is one of only two games that they will be playing in the county.
This game will provide Sligo Rovers supporters with their first opportunity to see Rovers new signing’s such as the likes of Chris Turner and Keith Foy in action.
St. John’s Chairperson Robbie McNabb said:
“It is a great honour for the club to have Sligo Rovers as visitors to Cuilbeg for the first time particularly given their status as First Division Champions.”
Sligo Rovers Manager Sean Connor said:
“I’m looking forward to attending the game and that I’m aware of the St. John’s club history and they’ve actually provided players for the club and some of our ex players are at the club as well and it’s an ideal opportunity for the people of Sligo to see some of the new signing’s before the season starts.”
Kick-off is at 3pm and admission is €5.
