Drogs boss eyes new signings
Drogheda United manager Paul Doolin is on the look-out for a new goalkeeper and striker to join his FAI Carlsberg Cup-winning squad – but admits that any transfer market moves will not resemble the wholsesale changes he brought about 12 months ago. Doolin brought in an almost entirely new squad for last season as a result of embarking on an ambitious full-time professional strategy.
It may have taken a while to bed in, but the Boynesiders ended the 2005 campaign on a real high, sealing fourth place in the table for the second successive season before lifting their first FAI Cup crown by beating league champions Cork City in December.
