anyone hear any rumours whos headlining oxegen this year??
Not going this year unless it an amazing line-up or I get a cheap ticket some how. Electric picnic is the palce to be 3-day event this year. 3 day + camping €175 Oxegen will probably be at least €150 for the 2 days + camping.
Anyway heres the offical site. No-one mentioned on it yet though

I enjoied last year when being with my mates and the line-up was very good. but my problem was that I found there were far too many people there that seem to be only interested in getting very drunk causing trouble. 3 of my mates were camped next to a about 10 or 15 lads who broke into their tent stole all their drink and clothes smashed up their sterio and to addd insult to injury took a sh*t in their tent. They then sat in front of the my mates tent drink the tins they stole jsu looking for a fight.
They lads were arseh**es were later thrown out for throwing cans of beer at the securitys jeep one of which bounced of the jeep and hit a girl in the face.
Also heard from another mate camped in a differnt location that there were a group of lads going around setting fire to peoples tents on the sunday night.
Last year was my 5th year in a row going to Witnness/oxegen, and it has been getting steadely worse each year.

Oxegen is crap compared to Electric Picnic. The line-up at Oxegen tends to be a bit on the cheesy side and its full of young people.
Electric Picnic is a much better crowd of people because school is back. The music is better, the food is better and they even have showers for the smelly campers.

Agree,oxygen is a joke.Bad facilities,over priced food,muppets there only for the beer falling over and throwing beer,if you want to go to a proper festival that goes on for a week with no trouble and top class facilities go to the one in Hungary called the sziget festival,thats how a festival should be run.

I'm not a festival person myself. Unless the line-up is amazing, I save my money for some more true one-band concerts

Few of my mates went to sziget last year was ment to go was ment to go with them but got a new job(which I've since left) the 2 weeks before Sziget. They didn't stop chatting about it for ages after they came back.
I didn't go last year,but know a couple of lads that did,palmerstown area??I was there a couple of years ago.Really,you can't complain about this festival at all.The music goes on nearly all night,whatever type of music you fancy,chillout,punk.indie,goth,death metal,world music,trip hop,dance,it's all there,plus there are loads of bars with seats and sofas and you can get a proper meal with fresh food while sitting down at a table.There are no queues for the jacks,the bars or for your grub,the women are easy on the eye too:) ,anyway once you've been here you'll see what a shambles Oxygen really is.

sziget looks wicked, I'm sick of these pretentious wasters who think The Killrs and The Frames are the savious of music as they leach down in Oxegen, oh how i miss Witnness :<
I loved the Kaizer Chiefs but once the prats started playing it in clubs I was crushed, hopefully that sort wont be in Hungary, very much loking into going there

U going? Would like to arrange a meet up if so. There should be at a good 8-10 of us heading over got about 20 chatting about it at the moment but most will prob pull out

Not sure yet Neish,thinking about the Barcelona one,I'll let you know closer the time.
had similar experiances as you in oxegen last year Neish, saw those *******s burning ****e as we were leaving on the sunday too, crap like.. i had 4 or 5 ppl jump in on my tent at i duno 5 or 6am and collapse it with me inside like..
was looking at that hungarian one too last year but never went in the end.. friends went to picnic last year and also to roskilde and reported much much better setup and weekend the i had
prob looking at missing oxegen this year for the 1 or 2 of the others

Agree with everyones comments regarding the scumbags. Was absolutly disgusted with last year. The other two years I went it was rough but to be expected from a festival but last year was over the top. Seen one fella get a kicking from a bunch of stewards for throwing a can at his head during the tent burning in campsite B, they got the wrong guy. The beating he got made me sick and effectivly ruined my weekend.
Heard nothing but good reports about Electric Picnic, everything is based around feedback from previous years. Silent disco sounded amazing last year.
I think Radiohead will play as they will have a new album out, if they do play I will find it hard not to go besides that though I won't be convinced.

Has a very similar expierience myself, we were waiting for us bus in the campsite and these ars*hole security started surrounding us with tins on the ground, I foolishily thought they were leaving them for us and went to pick one up, and one guy just shoved me away, then they sarted busting the tins with sticks and soaking us.Myself and one or two of my mates asked them what they were at and the same di*k,shove me again (probably cause I was the smallest there) this nearly started a full fight but another stewart (who must of been a supervisor)came running across, and asked us what was the problem we told him and he told the arseholes to apoligise but they just walked off. He then apoligised for them.

Several of my mates were at szeigt last year and said its amazing from what they say(so much that I forbid them from talkin about it in my direct vacinity) I would really recomend going. I'm about 90% sure I'll be heading this year provided that I get off work.

no no electric picnic is rubbish dont go , every one stop talking about it:D its our little secret if it gets too much exposure the scum bags will arrive before long .first year was class absolutly class ,second was nearly as good better bands and it was 2 days camping but it had lost some of its innocence but thats to be expected when it jumps from 15,000 to 25 . its going to be 30,000 this year for 3 days ....thats a long weekend it could get messy buy the last night .
wont be going to oxygen allthough id no trouble the whole weekend is hassle queing all day for food drink toilets , the toilets are only cleaned once a day .now im a festival goer so i know what to expect but imagine the sh1t and **** and puke and worse in a giant plastic box in the july sun all day long :(

Should be a good one
was doing some initial background research into this szeigt one and im thinking i'll prob give it a lash. heading to valmez in czech for their film and music festival this summer too.
think ive outgrown the lunacy of oxyegen tbh
