Striker Brown opts for Ballymena
Paul Brown helped Sligo win promotion in the Eircom League
Ballymena United have won the race to sign Paul Brown from Sligo Rovers.
The former Limavady United striker has agreed a deal which will keep him with the Sky Blues until the end of the 2007-08 season.
Brown is likely to go straight into Tommy Wright's side for the league game against Cliftonville on Saturday.
Glenavon and Coleraine had also been interested in Brown who helped Sligo Rovers win the First Division in the Eircom League last year.
Brown's decision means he will link up again with boss Wright, having played for him at Limavady.

Not a big loss really although it means we definitely need to sign at least one more striker now. When Brown arrived I expected a lot from him cos of Sean's big interest in him but he never really proved himself and I don't think he'd be able to cope in the Premier really. What would annoy me more is if we didn't get any money for him considering the Trust did pay part of the transfer and I don't think it'd be fair to just let him go for free.

I'd say our odds will drift out a bit now...
Wonder how much they got for him, wasn't he in a two year contract ?

People have asked me what I have done with Sean [Flannery] because he has played so well this year. In terms of coaching I have obviously worked on pieces of his game but, to begin with, he is obviously a very, very good player."
whatever some ppl on here think of him SC obviously doesn't agree&i think it's quite possible it will be flannery plus A.N.Other come march 11th

Strange decision though, considering Sean spent so much time and effort chasing him in the first place. Hopefully we recouped our money and that he has another signing lined up instead!

In fairness he was fairly ineffective. Showed some great touches in a lot of games but that was about it. Flannery has super technique but time will tell I guess.

I'd say his age does not fit Sean's team profile.

as with boyle i'd be shocked if connor had any interest in sum1 like keegan although he's decent i'd prefer flannery&mctiernan and there's no point wasting money on sum1 who's no better than we already have&has already reached his peak

The Stars

he would be the ultimate target man.Strong as an ox,win every header and knows where the goal is.
