Can there be a more damning indictment of Givens' management of the U-21's?? From today's Indo:

Ireland U21 will have to go through a two-legged play-off to earn the right to play in the qualifying round of the 2007 European U21 Championship. UEFA have changed the format of the U21 Championship and it will no longer be run in tandem with the senior qualifying campaign.

Based on results over the past two U21 qualifying campaigns, Ireland find themselves ranked in the bottom 16 meaning they will have to go through a preliminary round

Ireland will be seeded in the preliminary round and will have home advantage in the second leg.

Could somebody please tell me how the feck this man still has a job?

No, really, I want someone to try and fathom this one out. I certainly can't.

It's a stop-gap age group between youths and senior and no one gives a damn about it. He's in a win win situation and is answerable to no one.
He's no threat to John Delaney so his job is safe.
John Delaney is too busy finding reasons to sack people he simply doesn't like.
