Dont know if this was asked before, but which do you prefer "Blur" or "Gorillaz" or neither?

If someone could make this into a poll, thanks.

by the way I prefer gorillaz myself.:)

Blur definately. Grew to love them from the OasisvBlur days whilst being a big Oasis fan. They were my golden days of music. Gorillaz have some good tunes but the whole thing just has the feel of an experiment and is hit and miss. Thats my opinion anyway.

Lead singer of Blur the Britpop band from the 90s hehe but they also done some good albums since then like "Blur " "13" and "Think Tank" . Damon is a real pretentious ***** but i have to say Blur are a great band always liked their stuff.

None of them please. The whole concept of replacing musicians by computer-designed apes turns me off, and what I heard of them is too rap-esque for me.

Thanks Gerrit- I am sure you prefer Plastic Bertrand

Blur for me- esp there early 90s stuff. Some of thir later stuff is a bit weak...

Damon's point is that no one listens to a white man doing rap, so the cartoons are necessary in order to make people listen to it without prejudice.

Hell no  He relies on one single cult song...

If I really must choose I'll also go for Blur. Not entirely my stuff, but they have some decent songs.

bang on but thats the point of the gorillaz as they say single handedly saving the world from manufactured music . its all about not following the set pattern of verse corus verse corus verse end that pratically all songs have now . this is very evident in dirty harry the song out at the moment as it changes direction about 3 times .they are nt writting the songs to be number one hits or trying to please the general public , they are doing what they want to do thats what makes it so good .

hard album to get into be so worth the time it s in my top 3 from last year with arcade fire and sufjan stevens .

they use the cartoons so they real artist dont get reconised and turn into fake "celeb's" .. its nothing to do with people dont listen to white guys rapping ( ill mention slim shady as they biggest selling rap artist ever he is white ) as damon does nt do any rapping on it at all its done by actual black rappers .

blur have advanced hugely from there simple pop days think tank was very good .

They're 2 completely different bands with totally different types of music and can't really be compared. Its like comparing the Prodigy to Black Sabbath.

Both are good in their own right. Blur had some classics in the 90s and Gorillaz in the 00's

not too much to compare really. Gorillaz with one patchy alubm and one classic. Blur with at least 3 crackers, and a few duds. But that said, Demon Days i reckon is the best album if you combine both...

I'm a huge blur fan and for me Modern Life... and Parklife are two brilliant albums. In regards to Gorillaz I've said it before and I'll say it again its just blur b-song lyrics that has a black guy rapping. Damon's best stuff was with blur.

wtf is this ****? Can we have a Vote Beethoven vs Megadeath?

This music is nothing alike, typical of this musioc forum, utter drivel and usually wrong [see best albums of 2005]

I'm gonna plump for Blur for the simple fact that outside of Leisure and Great Escape I think all of their albums are classics, with particular nods to Blur and Modern Life. It'll be interesting to hear the new material they're recording at the moment, new album is due for a May release I think. Damon also has a solo project based on his Democrazy EP coming our this year and some more Mali Musicesque material to be released aswell, should be a busy year for Mr.Albarn alright

pull your fingers out of your ears, its not! Gorillaz is based around rap and synths with beats, Tink Tank smacked more of Radiohead-esque with beats

2 or 3 songs have guest appearences from rappers , the majority dont have any rap in them ,
