I'm sure ye all saw Steven Gerrards reaction to Alonsos 70 yard effort on Saturday. At first it was "don't shoot, give it to me", then moved on to "Aaahh you stupid spanish git, what did you do that for?", then "Yesssss..super goal, well done mate" all within 10 seconds of each other...class, and very funny.:D :D

Was funny alright. I'm not a Liverpool fan, so I'm not baised in any way, but I honestly think Xabi Alonso is the most watchable footballer in the game at the moment. Wonderful player.

It was very funny alright - he went mad when Alonso took the shot.

A guy in England placed a bet at the start of the season that Alonso would score a goal this season from his own half. Odds were 1000/1 and the guy put down 200 Euro. I would say he was glad Alonso did not pass to Gerrard.

The odds were only 125/1, and he put down £200 sterling, getting him £25,000.They interviewed him on Sky last night.

And yeah...I'd say he was glad Alonso didn't pass to Gerrard too...:D

I was cracking up at the post match interview where Gerrard slid down the wall and very nearly onto his arse while talking, priceless.

Sorry for that I was misinformed by Gary Lineker.

Liverpool to be without their skipper due to a broken coccyx would have been a nightmare!

Alonso obviously realised that Gerrard had ran offside as soon as he went over the halfway line, seen as there was only one defender back. Either that or he thought 'f*ck it, it's worth a go'.
