Highs and lows of 2005 .... league related obviously.
Simple .... three of each (strictly)

Highs

1. The competition in the league, with three teams in it for a long while, and then winning it in the end.
2. NLSA (http://www.nlsupporters.com/)
3. The time at the start of the season when we thought we were going to get great coverage of the league

Lows

1. As a Cork City fan, not winning the double
2. Genisis Report on the league
3. The coverage the league got, long periods with no games at all

HIGHS
1 Signing of Alan Murphy
2 Suppose the general buzz around the club at the moment buliding up the 2006 season
3 Crack with the other supporters especially at the home game v Sligo, the demolition of limerick and all of the away trips were brillaint....we had alot of laughs!

LOWS
1 Loosing at home to Kilkenny in front of our lowest attendance of the year.
2 Getting hammered by Sligo 4-1 and not beating them once
3 The whole season bar the last 12 games....and especially the first 12-15 games when we were second last for ages!

Highs:

1 Fans taking over the club and removing the evil empire that was mcliar and co. Future loooking very bright.

2 Tallaght finally getting sorted. Should be playing there next season.

3 Hammering the filth in Dalymount when they were, ahem, mounting a title challenge. No laughing at the back.

Lows

1 Ending up in the 1st despite finishing 8th in the league.

2 Having Roderick Collins associated with the club.

3 The 8 points debacle. Not going over old ground, but left a bad taste, especially as we would have been fine if the correct info was submitted and we pointed out the mistake.

The League Cup semi (especially injury time in the semi and the equaliser in final)
Keeping two clean sheets in the blue of UCD against Longford Town in the half-time supporters' games. :)
Winning the U-21 trophy again

Lows
The last ten games or so
The Genesis Report - biggest load of rubbish I've read in a long while. Quite scary to think it might be acted on.
The Genesis Report - biggest load of rubbish I've read in a long while. Quite scary they didn't consider the supporters an important enough section of the league to consult.

I think A Face was trying to make this about the league overall, rather than about clubs, so I'll play along with my EL highs and lows :

HI'S
1) A truly compeitive and exciting league season, that caught a lot of public attention.
2) 25,000 colourful fans at the Cup Final.
3) Secret discussions re an all-island league happening, alongside the expansion of the successful Setanta Cup initiative.

LOW'S
1) Media coverage failing to live up to expectations.
2) The FAI - another year, another 12 months of inertia regarding our league.
3) Dublin City back in the Premier.

Lows

The league losing a player of Kevin Doyles ability for loose change.
Longford in Europe.
Dublin City getting promoted.

*Edit* Only read your list after posting my own, Steve.

2. Staying up in the premiere.
3. The game against rovers up in dalyer.

Highs

1. The NLSA (http://www.nlsupporters.com/). To finally have a group of supporters united in their goals and fully commited to the future of the league makes this season a sucess alone.

2. The standard of football played by the top sides in the country this year has been a huge improvement on the long-ball nonsense of the past.

3. Match day atmosphere at the Brandywell was the best I have ever experienced. Atmosphere til the very end in Cork made me proud to be a city fan

Lows

1. Continued ineptitude of the F.A.I

2. The state that the Brandywell stadium is in and the thought of us being back at the top of Irish soccer and welcoming European clubs to such a woeful sight. Well done Derry City Council

3. Ollie Byrne and $helbourne in general being allowed to make a mockery of the rulebook

Lows
1) Dom Foley - not for leaving but for leaving in such an underhand way (not helped by our board's incompetence, admittedly)
2) finishing 6th with - at a guess - the 3rd highest wage bill in the league
3) The behaviour of some of our fans - particularly at the last Shels game - left Dalymount for the last time this year feeling sick

1) Dom Foley - for a couple of months he was the best player in the league

:D :D :D

ah that's cheered me up a bit anyway

Highs

- Set a record in Europe for co-efficent points, the progress is there for all to see.
- TV Audience for the last game of the season and cup final
- Setanta cup proving a success

Lows

- Kevin Doyle and Wes Hoolahan, need say no more.
- The mickey-mouse way the TV deal was handled with absolutley pathetic choices of matches doing nothing to promote the league
- The return to the unfair 12 team league which, it could be argued, cost Derry a league title unfairly.

Nope...don't seem to remember that one...what happened again? :D

Incidentally, would the club have a video of that? Even the last five minutes would do me...

2. Shels continuing to get away with blue murder on all sorts of levels

Lows:

1. Continued bad press from the scum of Irish media for Rovers
2. Ronan 'I have no neck' Seery
