assuming its pats who get to play in the inter-toto cup here are their opponents and the dates of the matchs. (sometimes clubs withdraw from this cup, so this is who they are scheduled to meet at the moment). im also assuming that pats get through the first two rounds (TALL ORDER )

RIJECKA (CROATIA) V PATS JUNE 22/23

PATS V RIJECKA JUNE 29/30
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AA GENT (BELGIUM) V PATS JULY 6/7

PATS V AA GENT JULY 13/14
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SEVILLA V PATS JULY 20/21

PATS V SEVILLA JULY 27
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FUNNILY ENOUGH THATS PROBABLY A MORE INTERESTING DRAW THAN A UEFA CUP SPOT OR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SPOT IN THE EARLIER ROUNDS.

Not that it gets us any ranking points but I think in the seasons to come the inter-toto could strangely be a better competition to enter given some of the lame uefa draws we get. June will be in the middle of the eL season so should be a big advantage.

Just think how even a poor city team would have done against the metal boys in November last year.

The eL season won't start until July this year. But from next year onwards then it will be starting in June..........

Correct.

This transition season was supposed to be June-Dec but moved to July-Jan cos of the WC.

Incorrect.

Next season 2003 (& for foreseeable future) will be played over March-October.

If you play with the defensive mentality that was shown at the X I doubt when your season starts will make much of a difference.

I'd say those Croations could be beatable. Anyway, any type of Euro competition is great experience, we just need more and more of it, teams obviously need to win games.

The standard would probably be higher in the UEFA Cup though, and obviosly in the CL qualifiers.
