Story in the Mirror today that City are in the ( early ) process of signing one of the Slavia Prague strikers. Apparently Slavia are trying to downsize and some of them are out of contract anyway..............

Have to say that I was saying this kind of thing to myself when Slavia were winning 2-0 at the X ( i.e. if you can't beat them, join them -by getting some of their players on loan or whatever ).

Doubt there's much in it, but woudl be very interesting to see players coming here from the Czech league.

I always wonder why clubs seem to sign players from teams that have beaten then so often - seems like a lazy way of not bothering to scout around IMO

Rico was meeting agents this week with view to signing Czech and/or Slovakian players.

Signing players that you've seen live in 2 competitive games is good business as have very accurate opinion of them. Scouting players in foreign countries for more than 1 game isn't very feasible for itish clubs.

If we get any player that started or came off the bench in either of the Uefa Cup games i;d say mosy city fans will be delighted as would fit in with style of play very well.

Fair enough Pete. I was thinking more of big clubs in Britain who could afford scouts - for City it makes perfect sense to look for players we've played against.

I'd be delighted if we got decent players from strong leagues like that. Hope it works out

Yer man Cernock was down in the Echo as one of two players they'd narrowed it down to.
I remember his friends who live in Cork wrote an article for the programme so it could be feasible.
I thought Slavia were a very strong side so would be delighted with any of them.

Very good point. Forgot about that programme article.
