UCD part company with quartet

December 21, 2005

Premier Division UCD have parted company with four of last season’s squad, including experienced defender Mick O’Donnell and French striker Damien Dupuy.

O’Donnell had been at Belfield Park for ten years, but will not be offered a new deal, while Dupuy, signed from Galway United last year, also has no future at the club.

The will be joined on the out-list by young pair Brian Gannon and Liam Tiernan.

Gannon made 39 appearances for the Students but is keen to pursue his future elsewhere, while under-21 team defender Tiernan is said to have been unhappy with the lack of first-team opportunities at Belfield Park.

Both had been among 15 young players signed up on soccer scholarships last year, but will be plying their trade away from College next season.

From eleven a side. No word about Cawley though.

You can add Anto Murphy (Pats) and Aidan Lynch (Dundalk) to that official list.

Also Sean Finn 'The Finnstigator', formerly of Waterford and UCD has signed for Dublin City.

No confirmation of Neil Gallagher to Dundalk, anyone got it official?

Alan Cawley has 100% signed.

Alan Cawley has 100% signed.

How do you know? Haven't seen that confirmed or suggested anywhere except here. Since when has Finn been known as the Finnstigator?

Also, Finn's gone to Dundalk, not Dublin City. He's apparently had a spell with Tranmere. Bambi's thrown up some random nuggets over time...mainly to do with random Collingwood scores, I think!

Pineapple, I see you're saying on the main board that Cawley has signed. Are you just taking these lads word for it or did you hear somewhere yourself?

I met a friend of Alan's in town the other day and he told me its true. FACT!

There we go, now we're finally getting some sources! Still await to see it on any site in writing though!

Apologies - they were random games. The scores and scorers all turned out to be correct. Bambi has also broken the news of being at home in the League Cup Final, Willie Doyle signing and Robbie Mac and Whitmarsh being released, which isn't a bad record! Which is why I'm happy to go with the signing on the transfers thread. I'll wait until I hear official confirmation from the clubbefore putting it on the website, though...
