Mine would be 'II' by a Canadian band called Cursed, althought a notable mentions go to ''The Documentary'' by The Game, and ''Be'' by Common.

I voted for Funeral by Arcade Fire to stop some of that other rubbish winning the poll. My actual favourite album was 'sigur ros - takk' which isn't on it but should be, it's quality.

I don't want 'other' to win, cos some of the 'other' is rubbish aswell (i'm just waitin on someone to mention JB), so I voted for one I like & expressed my opinion in a post.:p

Got to be Gypsy Punks by Gogol Bordello; Ukrainian punk music, superb stuff.

Gorillaz are nothing more than blur b-song lyrics with some guy who appears now and then to rap. I blame William Orbit, he caused this irrepairable damage when he produced 13 for blur.

ha ha how old are you , your starting to sound like an old man complaining about the music now adays

i say thank god he has gone away from there pop songs they released in there early albums

feel good inc has one of the best bass lines all year and the guys appearing every now and then as you put it are de la soul !!!!!!!!!! these are top top rappers that have been brought in to rap on this album

Amon Tobin: Chaos Theory
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: B sides and Rarities.

Of those listed in the poll, Damien Dempsey's would be the only one I'd listen to.

Amon Tobin: Chaos Theory

I have all the old Amon Tobin records - great stuff. One of the better Ninja Tunes artists. I must get my hands on Chaos Theory.

Another good album that I don't think has been mentioned is the Mercury Prize winner Antony & The Johnson's - I Am A Bird.
His voice is very different and it's an album that you'll either love or hate, personally I thought it was ok :D

Long after everyone's stopped paying attention to this thread, two others:

Kinski: Alpine Static (which I only heard this week)
Monolake: Polygon Cities (German minimalist/ambient techno-type stuff)

Hard-FI - Stars of CCTC is the best album of 2005 IMHO.

Only discovered that now. Great album.
