does anyone notice that pc graphics are never as cutting edge as game consoles, like the men and objects are always more square looking and around the peripherals there is always a line that is slightly off or blotchy?

why is this?

Loads, higher resolution in pc monitors VS TV sets, different chipsets - the PC version of a game has to support any number of graphics cards, whereas PS/XBox are always the same, memory varies from PC to PC as well.
I prefer my PS2 for gaming, simply because my PC gaming experience (by and large) goes:
Delete stuff off hard drive to make space for game
Install game
Download and install patch
Update Windows with latest DirectX version/Patch
Swear a lot
Play game
and 2-4 years later buy a whole new setup because your PC isn't up to scratch to play the latest games

PS2 gaming experience:
Insert disc
Power on
Play game
and the same PS2 will play PS2 games in 4 years
