What do yous reckon is the best Live Album Ever! Have to say for me it's Live on St. Patricks Day by Dropkick Murphys. Really manages to capture the energy of a live show, which I find many live albums don't. Anyone interested in Punk should get a copy NOW!!!

I am a big collector of bootlegs etc and the problem with live albums is that it loses all live edge when you get the recording from the mixing desk, which is what you get when you buy an official release. You can't beat a good quality bootleg and nowadays the quality of bootlegs is improving. The sound quality obviously isn't as good as a mixing desk one but overall it is a better listen in my opinion.

Best proper live albums are probably Humble Pie's "Rockin the Fillmord" and The Who "Live at Leeds". Most significant live album is perhaps Nirvana's unplugged one, though I amn't particularly a fan.

My favourite live recording is The La's live in Picket in 87 and the Stone Roses in the academy in 87 also.

I don't know of too many live albums but one of my favourites is Kila live from Vicar Street.

Aslan - Made in Dublin, just cause they can't reproduce the same sound in a studio as they can live.

Pearl Jam in Seattle 6th November 2000. It is a 3 cd set of the last night of their Binaural tour and what was supposed to be their last gig ever..

My own favourite live album would be Jeff Buckley's - Mystery White Boy.
Did'nt know much of his stuff when I bought it but some of the songs on it blew me away.

Actually I forgot about The Frames - Set List. Brilliant live album - Glen tells a great story on it about Defur Dog.

That part nearly put me off that whole album, always the same with the Frames, about 10 minutes to explain the story behind a 3 minute tune. So there was a dog outside your school, get on with it!

I think Parliament-Funkadelic's "P-Funk Earth Tour" is brilliant.
