Webb was the best left fullback before he left Bohs, now Danny Murphy is the best.
100% agree Pete.
Murphy is without doubt the best left back in the league - after that Webb is :)

We have four players (Danny, Greg, Hoggy, Billy) capable of playing in the left back position and I reckon all 4 are better than Webb.
of course you do, but people who know that webb is better than msl standard also know that you are wrong ;)

We'll see how good Webb really is on Sunday....;)

As with Waterford, there's no love lost between Cork and Limerick.
Isn't there?
They're not exactly a big threat to us now are they?
Ditto with Ramblers.

I'm heading to the final on Sunday. Getting 6 tickets in ticket master tomorrow. For some reason I reckon it will be snorefest though. But hope i'm proved wrong.

Explain
In Limerick's hey day in the late seventies, early/ mid 80's (before my time I'm afraid ) cork hibs, celtic whatever the hell you were called were completely insignificant to us, Waterford, Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk, Athlone were far bigger games (at least how my dad tells it) and I can't see a reason for not liking us now. Exactly + Hibs fans would support Limerick and Waterford against Celtic and the same went for Celtic.
Exactly, why would either Lims or City be bothered with the other nowadays?
Is Roy O' Donovan suspended? Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see the best full back in the league (Simon Webb) put the little cheat in his pocket for 90 minutes.
:D :D Whatever about your cheat and best full-back allegations, i'd say you're thinking of young Liam Kearney there.

Kearney plays on the left doesn't he? So how would Webb at left-back for Drogs be marking him?

NOT A CHANCE:eek: !!!!! What about Pip Keogh. Crackin' season and without the brillance of Tresson would surely have won Wanderers player of the year.

It's the staggering (misguided) arrogance of your average Cork fan that pi$$es us off, whats your excuse? :)

And some of the other fans of the Mighty Cork City think my football knowledge is dodgy. You mustn't get along with them Colm ;)
Nice to know you are all so easy to wind up anyway (Risteard excepted) it will make Dorghedas victory all the sweeter for the "inferior" neutrals in Lansdowne :)
Off the top of my head Roy O'Donovan should have definitely walked against Slavia. Theirs probably a few more incidents involving him but I'm tired and can't think :o

he should have walked against derry, and he should have walked earlier in the match against us earlier in the season (before he did go for his second yellow)
*but according to rico 'he's not that type of player' !!!
but I'm tired and can't think :o
Thats fairly obvious....:D

he should have been taken off against them cos he was put in his place for the night. so was kearney come to think of it. although jesus was marking him:)
i said it before about o'donovan. good player. amazing pace. but he'd been even more dangerous if he had a brain. maybe rico will find a tiny one in his head and nurture it?

Drogheda expected to bring 10,000 according to this morning's Indo. Any Drogs fans here think that's likely?

YES...7000 tickets sold last tues i think.Club sold 5500 and local ticketmaster outlet sold nearly 1,500.Thats not inc 1000 given to schools etc.I think by sun we could 10,000.
O'Donovan ws only in first season as senior pro so can excuse some of his over exuberance.

You still standing by that? Because it was a pretty ridiculous statement even the other day and it looks even more laughable now.
Greg O'Halloran, Billy Woods and possibly even Neal Horgan are players that Cork City should be looking at replacing if they're serious about moving up to the next level.

Greg is good at what he does, and that is to disrupt the game.
Billy is not a spring chicken.
But, Hoggie is definately worth keeping. Very solid, good pro and VERY UNDERRATED!

O'Halloran isn't a bad spoiler. But there's better out there. And his distribution at times... He's a poor full-back though whatever about his strengths in midfield.
Billy Woods is past it. Agreed. Let him go and replace him.
And Neal Horgan... I did say 'possibly', I don't think he's a bad player by any stretch but I'm not sure he'll ever be really top drawer. And when you say he's a good pro, I was under the impression that techically he's not actually full-time. I know that's not what you meant but I think that's pretty relevant too. If he won't/can't go full time I'd have my doubts about retaining him.
Cork City have the basis of an excellent squad and if they make the right changes now. I'm curious to see what's going to happen. That's all. :)
