FAI chief executive John Delaney has paid tribute to Northern Ireland legend George Best who died earlier today.
'George was one of the best footballers ever to grace the game,' said Delaney. 'On behalf of the FAI and the family of football in Ireland I extend sincere sympathy to George's family and friends. May he Rest in peace.'
The FAI will open a book of condolence on Monday at 1pm at their headquarters in Merrion Square.
A minute's silence will be observed at the FAI Cup final between Cork City and Drogheda United on December 4.
