Its a ridiculous sacking .. had the players backing and has not been given a proper chance. Think its a bit of a power trip by the chairman, but then again he pumps the money into the club.

Not wishing to go off topic here .. I think his record proves that he is a good manager .. but will his voice in the dressing room be the one to gee up the players. Don't think so. Not even sure if Gus Hiddink is that voice either.

For all their faults, I don't think (hope!) the FAI would head hunt him....there are better options on the potentials list....

But for any Prem manager that gets the boot now the possibility is there...

First managerial loss of the season late into November, must be a while since that happened.
I don't think Perrin would be approached by the FAI, although, as you say any Premiership manager given the boot between now and the start of the Euro 2008 qualifiers is going to be linked with the job

I'm getting a sneaking suspicion that the FAI is employing a publicity / PR firm. Every now & then a bad candidate gets his namn in lights for a while.

Then when a half decent candidate is appointed we all go "phew, at least it's not Venables / Reid / Perrin ...".

Then again, the day the FAI ever does anything well in the PR arena will be a very strange day.

There was an article about that on the BBC website a while back - something like a ten-year record for non-sackings.

They didn't get where they are today by employing a PR firm....

I'm afraid he didnt have the players backing, Stefanovic said today after he was sacked there were 6 or 7 players that didnt want him there. He was one of them

my father doesn like much comedy, as he seems to be above wit and sarcasm ( lowest form and all that ) but reggie was far more than that, so saw them all on the re runs about 7 years ago on bbc, and bought the dvds. rising damp doesnt come close.

i was telling the quotes to someone yesterday and as i read it i got it ( the marvellous that is )!!! 6 hours later!LOL

do ye not remember when he was late for work and his excuse was brilliant i.e.
juggernaut jack knifed at geralds cross.LOL :D probably my favourite one. i have always wanted to use that one, but unfortunately i dont go anywhere near that ;)

the joke on seamus o'toole from the land of the bogs and the little people was great as well. the dumb irish labourer.

No matter how young Paul was, he would have remembered listening to the timeless classic "The Sounds of Silence", maybe even tried to strum along with it on his 'stringless guitar'.
