I hope for the mircale: my beloved Norway beating the Czech Republic 0-2.

It's not impossible. We got our best results in the away games during the group stages, and we scored in our last 5 away games. So who knows? A quick 0-1 and then building an iron wall, making the Czechs nervous, and striking on a counter.

I am realistic though: we have no more than 10% chance. It will be extremely difficult. I just hope for a miracle but don't dare to expect it, as the odds are big that I'd end up disappointed anyway. I expect defeat, then if the miracle would happen I can only end up pleasantly surprised.

It's my birthday on Wednesday, the most extraordinary present would be a Norwegian stunt. I believe in it, but I'm staying realistic.

And I'll just watch the game on tv2.no again: 50 NOK a game = 7 euro. Handy and cheap, and the quality's as good as streaming video can ever get.

Oh, my wanting list for qualifications:

Norway
Switzerland (although I don't really mind if it's Turkey)
Slovakia (which is almost impossible)
Uruguay
Trinidad & Tobago

If Norway does the impossible and qualifies, I'll be so filled with joy however that I cannot care less about the other results.

I saw in some TV listing (can't remember which one) that Eurosport were showing the Australia-Uruguay match live at 9am Wednesday morning. Don't know if it's right or not. It's doesn't show it on the Sky listings, but then they aren't always up to date.

It is my birthday today (24 and still no girlfriend  ) - the most beautiful bday gift I could receive would be a Norwegian qualification. I think we have 10% chances left, it will be extremely hard but you never know. I keep my fingers crossed.

PS: birthday presents can be sent at any time, PM me to arrange pick-up :p

Delighted for Australia. Got screwed over by FIFA giving Oceania a qualifying spot and then taking it off them. There by rights now. Also, never liked Uruguay - always thought they were a very dirty team.

Now for Trinidad & Tobago to get through!

Congrats to the Aussies. Guess that means no Hiddink for us then.

0-0 at half time in the T&T and Bahrain game (1-1 agg). Maybe another peno shootout?

T&T are now 1-0 up!

Come on Soca Warriors!

Metrostars

T&T win!!! 1-0

Amazing stuff right at the end, Bahrain had a dodgy goal disallowed, the Bahrain player robbed Jack the T&T keeper while kicking out the ball and tapped it in but it was disallowed. Much like Henry's one last year. Bahrain players going nuts, one of them pushed the ref and was then sent off. Then Jack makes an superb save and the ref blows for full time

Yorke, Stern John, Spann and Lapaty were great in the last 10 minutes kill off time.

Congrats to the Soca Warriors!

In the Turkey-Switzerland, the Frei scored a penalty in the first minute to put them 3-0 on agg but Tuncay Sunli has scored twice for the Turks. Half time now and its the Swiss leading 3-2 on agg. Should be a great second half.

Am I the only one cheering for Switzerland? (Because one of my best friends from college is from there, not out of a "At least we lost to the winners" kind of mentality).

Two out of two success rate so far today in the games I've been favouring a side!:)

That was something! Caught a bit on the news there, Huggel (typical Swiss) seemed to start it by kicking one of the Turkish coaching staff members  , gave him a right boot in the leg! Then Alpay comes flying in to get another Swiss player as they walk into the tunnel, think one Swiss player is being treated in hospital, pity it wasn't Frei, the tramp! :o

Definitely. Top class international football is so much better and passionate than top class club football these days.

Wouldn't say that neccesarily as only really Czechs could be called top class. Its all about the underdog as far as i'm concerned (which is not tosay I won't be glued to the tv for Real b Barca on Saturday)

I was going to say just "international" and "club" football, but then I knew I'd start a torrent of posts about how they only care about their eL team and then someone would say how they only care about Liverpool, which doesn't make them any less of a fan because they support them just as much and...:p
