View Full Version : Cork v Derry - Nuetrals only
Derry City for me but I won't lose much sleep either way.Derry are very sporting fans who support their own team and don't see the need to slag off all other teams and their fans or pretend they are the best fans in the world unlike some Cork City fans.

I am am aware that Killian was released in the purge when Roddy first took over but why? Did Roddy ever see him play?

Derry City :ball:

Derry with reservations.
1) It gets Shels nearer the UEFA Cup.
2) Far better losers than Cork fans.
3) One in the eye for Bohs for the ridiculous decision to sack Kenny.
However, I do think Rico deserves a Championship somewhere along the line.
Incidentally, you don't end up being in contention for the League on the final day of the season by "bottling it." Both teams have shown remarkable character by just hanging in there.

In footballing terms, either one of them deserve it, both have consistently played outstanding football all season. both teams have a lot of very sound 100%-committed fans. But unlike Derry, Cork also have a large number of total clowns who manage to get right up my nose.
Hard to disagree with that. However, going by our own forum Derry fans are doing their best to catch up with our number of clowns.
ps I presume you are you the same Dr Nightdub that used to frequent RedBoys message board?
Plus Killian Brennan was one of the most skilfull players I've ever seen at Dublin City. If he wins a league medal it'd be one in the eye for Shoddy after letting him go when he took over:p
True, couldnt believe he let him go - was brilliant with dublin city and couldnt believe drogheda didnt try to pick him up when he was released!!
the candystripes all the way.. everyone loves the underdog to win dont they?
although if they do take the title on friday night, there will be another damn good reason for the nords to celebrate a football championship,eh...
may the best team win!
I hope its a sweet sweet night for the candystripes.
Derry.
Neighbourly love and all that :)
Cork have been excellent all season as well - whoever wins it will deserve it and it will be a fantastic advertisement for the league with a packed Turners Cross.
It's a pity that it is on at the same time as our last Premier game for a while though, would love to watch it.
Why is there no Shels option???
...oh, yeah (http://www.soccerbot.com/fai/tables/irprem2005.htm)!:p

What - like the First Division title.....? :oYep:cool: . At least ya get something outta that-promotion! Although, you do now get something out of the league cup too-Setanta. But that was a last minute thing which was unfairly added when most teams were knocked out, great idea FAI:rolleyes:

Yeah sligoman because you would have rejected the league cup if you won it because it's "not important". Ridiculous!

Yeah sligoman because you would have rejected the league cup if you won it because it's "not important". Ridiculous! We all knew the league cup was a joke. Nobody really took it seriously. When we played Harps we put out a fairly poor team, cos the league cup had no signifigance at the time, and the league was more important to us.

2) Far better losers than Cork fans.
Something to be proud of? Lets hope they excellent losers on friday.
I'd prefer Derry to win, but If Cork manage it, I wont be all that bothered.

Without a shadow of a doubt i would love to see Derry win it, best bunch of supporters in the land and for a club that was in trouble not so long ago to turn things around so much and be in for the title after an amazing year they deserve it and so do their fans.
By the way i hate ****ies.....:D

I hate that song, it stinks of English Millwall-esque casual culture and it's almost as if people like being hated.

derry.
so we can laugh even harder at the black and tans for sacking him
and because cork fans will be (more) insufferable if they win. some of the crap they have posted up here without a trophy has been appalling, so i can imagine the torrent of nonsense that will spew north if they finally get their act together. the general cork arrogance needs to be deflated at every available opportunity.

I'll apologise on Pete's behalf!:)
Our version actually goes like this....

We are City,
We are City from the Cross,
No one likes us,
No one likes us,
We are City from the Cross.

The fact so many people are voting for Derry is a sure sight they not seen as a threat. I will take the 75% pro Derry as a sign that everyone else is afraid CCFC will dominate the league if get the league & cup double.

Cork just & for one reason only, Rico!
Other than that would agree with Dr Nitedubs post 100% & would prefer Derry to win, but Rico is Rovers through & through & a true gent, would love to see him win it once before he retires!
