From the BBC website (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_of_wales/4390814.stm). They'd looked at the eL model, but said "It would give us nothing in benefits". Only one club voted for...
Well, thanks to a certain side they don't think the summer football makes a difference in Europe...
I think it would be a big mistake to revert back to winter soccer. The pitches were in great condition earlier on in the season and look at some of them now at this stage of the season - the pitches would be like that for the whole season if we reverted back to the old format. Also, you cant deny it has made a difference in Europe. Yes, Longford did appalingly bad but that was an isolated incident and I dont think they are good enough for European football at any level anyway. Cork looked better, played better and are better than Djurgarden, on top of this they also looked fresher than Djurgarden because of summer football.
The only downside to summer football in my opinion is that most games are played in daylight, we all know there is a better atmosphere under floodlights but this cant be helped. Anyway, now that we are getting into the most exciting part of the season its getting darker and the atmosphere (although always good from some supporters e.g Cork,Derry,Rovers) is getting better as a result.
We all want to improve this league, in my opinion reverting back to the old system would be a kick in the teeth to all the people who work hard to try and bring this league forward.

Who cares .... its only Wales like !!
I mean, being honest they aint exactly trail blazing themselves to be fair. It is hard to quantify but the impression i get is that there are alot of pluses to summer soccer .... like everything it'll take time, but leeside it has been great so far.

i dont think we should revert back to winter football until we have groundsmen throughout the league who can keep the pitch as good as they are at the moment.
at the end of the day its only Wales, who cares like ?

Who are a worse crowd.
The FAI or the Welsh FA?

Same here - was thinking about it on friday, standing in the freezing cold and wondering how I used do it no bother week in week out for years in even worse conditions!!
Rhyl also progressed this year, so can't be just blamed us.
Don't think we really need another thread on the merits of summer football - can only disagree with Cosmo - thought it was great on Saturday to be back under lights in the frosty weather. Summer football is for wimps.

There's something romantic about it alright but having a couple of seasons of summer football, i'd hate to go back to freezing my bo**ox off :o !

As you so often put it, summer football is all a bit gay for me. :D

I actually agree for some reason. Dunno what it is - the intensity of games under floodlights or something.
