Shelbourne striker Jason Byrne has been named the eircom/Soccer Writers Association of Ireland Player of the Month for October.
Byrne hit five goals in four games during October to bring his goal tally to the season to 29 goals - 21 in the League - ensuring he will finish as the League's top scorer for the third successive season.
The 26-year-old scored goals as Shelbourne beat St Patrick's Athletic and Longford Town before hitting his third hat-trick of the campaign against Bray Wanderers on Halloween.
