I remember a couple of editions ago somebody (possibly it was you again reitoir) who put Bohs, Shels, Cork City and I think a fourth team that escape me into the English League pyramid and played it out for a while?

That was me - I put about 5 or 6 sides in the bottom division of the League.

Didn't get very far with it though - this current one has legs

Yeah the whole eL Allstars angle is an interesting one alright. I presume you haven't changed any player stats? What would interest me just as much actually would be to see how that team would fare in the SPL.

Also shocked that Simon Webb can be overlooked! :p

I actually don't have FM 2006 but i'll try the eL xi thing in FM 2005.

I'm on the internet in college and don't have the net at home so i'll let yous know how I do on monday.

Havn't played FM 2005 in a while so any idea on who I should take with me from the eL to England??

Thats an excellent idea, was getting bored with my forest game.

So what are the rules about signing players?

Only from EL clubs or can they be just irish?

I would say the furthest you could go is the first divison but it would be a struggle.

sligoman
23/11/2005, 11:21 PM
Only from EL clubs or can they be just irish?Only from EL clubs. Sure if you could sign Irish players then ya could go for Keane and co. in which case you'd walk the Conference league:D.

Galwayexile
23/11/2005, 11:35 PM
i doubt keane and co would come to a struggling conference team.Might try this when i have spare few hours. I like the idea of been worester town or even more green. May put alan gough and a few others from galway in the squad. With proper training and the sort the team may do well.

i doubt keane and co would come to a struggling conference team.I think you can move them at the start by using the editor. I'm not fully sure though, I haven't actually bought the game yet.

moving keane and co would be cheating now sligoman  and we cant have that. The game is well worth the money though.

Update on the season so far to follow shortly - haven't had a lot of time recently to play it.

I can however unveil our two shirts:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/reiteoir/el_home.png
Home Kit

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/reiteoir/el_away.png
Away Kit

I have also found some graphics that pop up during a match with the Setanta Sports graphics - giving LoI games extra realism.

Anyone who wants these - plus the eL kits, badges, competition logos, plus these to replace the standard in-match graphics (yellow cards, red cards, fouls, offsides) - then PM me your email address and I'll send them on.

To those of you who have already done so - I'll get the stuff to you ASAP.

Anyway - my custom in-match graphics (all with an eL theme):

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/reiteoir/foul.png - to replace the whistle icon - a photo of Ian Stokes

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/reiteoir/offside.png - to replace the offside graphic - taken from a photo at Dalymount Park

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/reiteoir/yellowcard.png - To replace the Yellow Card icon - courtesy of an Alan Kelly Caution

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/reiteoir/redcard.png - to replace the Red Card icon - once again courtesy of an Alan Kelly Dismissal

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/reiteoir/replay.png - to replace the standard "R" icon on Replays - looks good coupled with the Setanta Sports popup.

I'm liking your work Réiteoir:cool:

I have not purchased FM 2006 yet and hopefully the girlfriend has coped onto the hints i have been droping
for x-mas.

Anyway in FM2005 got promoted into the National conference with Weymouth. Came first with 108 points tally ;)

Jayo Byrne and Kevin Doyle (he was still with CCFC when I got him) scored over 60 goals between them.

Having started in the 2nd qualfying round I managed to reach the dizzy heights of the third round and eventually getting knock out by MK DONS after a replay.
Not doing too well at the moment as I am in the lower half otf the division :o

I have a great game on the go now.

I'm Shels, and I got them into the CL group stages in my second season.

Then I got a bit bored, so I got an in game editor, so now all the clubs in Ireland have decent attendences,a youth academy and alot of money - the league is now competetive and one of the good leagues of europe.
