What do ye think ??
I'd take a nil one victory to the Rebels no problems at this stage !!
I think we all would at this stage!

One nil would do me, I can't see a situation arising now where goal difference will come into it.

A win tonight and Friday's result doesn't matter quite so much - might ven be better off having to win vs Derry.
I hate the "draw will do" scenario.

Yeah, I would agree...any win tonight will do, 3 pts and it's still in our own hands.....also, a win tonight would mean shels cannot win the league!:)

SHELS CANNOT WIN THE FÚCKIN LEAGUE!!
People are just looking at the points and not considering that Cork City and/or Derry will add to their points total on the last day.
The title will be heading out of Dublin this season, that's a fact!
so shels cant win the league.. is that true?
Any win at all tonight will suffice, not winning is unacceptable though at this stage having dropped points to Pats and Wateford.
I'm not too confident about the Shels game so we simply must win tonight.

Yes James, but it would be better for them if Derry won the league and we won the Cup.
a football hooligan you say?
we must win tonight, gona be a v nervy one for the regulars who cant go due to work etc.. relying on txt updates and aertel for the night.. eek
:(

so what you're saying Peadar is that shels win NOTHING this season :)

I have great faith in City beating Shamrock Rovers tonight .Shels on Friday is a Worry, Maybe Derry might slip up yet..........Cant wait for Shams game to be over.
a football hooligan you say?
Ollie Byrne? Surely not?
so what you're saying Peadar is that shels win NOTHING this season:)
wow
Absolutely nothing!
However, we've yet to actually win anything ourselves yet so maybe it's a bit soon to be pointing Shels lack of trophies out!

shels win NOTHING this season :)
That's the long and that short of it James, yes. ;)
It could also be a lot worse for them if we do the double since they'll miss out on the UEFA spot. :D

i find it very hard to beleive that a club as big and important as shels will win nothing all season.. i wonder is there anything oliver could do about it!!

I like this scenario:
2 wins this week = 73 points and at least a two goal advantage over Derry.
Settle back on Saturday and watch Derry begin to grasp the idea of pressure.
Just say, scoreless with 20 mins left - do they go for it and leave themselves open to a breakaway or do they settle for the point and have to win 2 or maybe 3 nil in Cork?

SPA have switched off Jim, their season is over.
Listening to Maguire (I think) on the el roundup on Saturday sports, he actually said pretty much those very words.

Yes patsh - but no professional team will simply lie down - especially at the end of a season when they can have a say in the destination of the title.
A so-called weak Bohs certainly put it up to us last season and City themselves took great delight in denying Shels a few years back.

I don't think they will lie down, but I think they won't have anywhere near the level of intensity they showed againt us last Friday week.
They put on a very good perfromance that night and played like their lives depended on it

Yes they did -they played very well and there is no reason why they can't do so again.
In any case it would be nice to see how Derry react in their first game where they cannot afford to lose!

The weather (http://www.meteireann.ie/forecasts/regional.asp?Prov=Dublin) is supposed to be bad this evening.
Hope it doesn't make life too difficult for us. :(
Dalymount has grass on the pitch & don't think they been grazing cattle there recently like the RSC which should help.

Delighted and relieved at this result. Rod helped us out earlier in the day with his interview, where he said "no way will Cork lift the title". Stoopid toe rag. Statements like that really fire up the lads, I reckon. What a little defendant Rod is.:p
