Longford Town Supporters' Club are having a very special end of season function in John Brownes, Market Square, following next Saturday night's last game at Flancare.
Apart from the Player of the Season and Goal of the Season awards, there will be a question and answer session with Stephen "Digger" O Brien conducted by Shannonside's Benny O Brien.
This will be Diggers last home game for the Town and afterwards he'll talk about his unforgettable magical moments. Digger is one of the League's greatest keepers and probably the most popular ever, both with Town and opposition fans.
This is one night not to be missed and your chance to bid a fond farewell in person to Digger, the little man with a big heart, who dug the Town out of many a hole!!

Remember John Brownes after the game against UCD this Saturday night, Nov 12th.

I'm sure you'll get alot of this from other teams supporters too, but will ye tell him on the night that drogs for one send him on their best wishes (as well as the laughs he gave us, ill never forget when ye knocked us out of the cup last season and the first thing he did was come over to the drogs supporters to applaud us)

Btw any plans to let supporters from other teams to email our best wishes and for someone to pass them on to him

Haven heard, I know Digger has posted here a few times so Im sure he will have a gawk before the end of the season. It would be a nice idea on the night to let him know what other fans etc thought of him

Wouldn't mind heading to that actually! Have a football game on Sunday morning, so I'll be heading back to Dublin after the match. Tell him the nutter with the pineapple juice sends regards! He should know which one I am after that - one of the more bizarre conversations I've had at an eL game!
