was on loan at sheffield wednesday last season , i think he is a defensive midfielder naturally tho the sheffield wednesday fans here would be able to tell you more

He played centre midfield in the ireland under 21s match with switzerland. Was at the match with a sheffield wednesday supporter who spoke very highly of him

He has started right back for Bolton's last 3 games but is a box to box central midfielder.

i read that (granted it was in the news of the world or something ) he got a rating of 6 and made one crucial mistake, apart from that he did nothing to note. it was though the news of the world, who give any english player an 8 and anyone else below.

Seen him in their last European game and he had an excellent game. He played midfield on that occasion but then reverted to right-full for Bolton's next game in the Premiership. He is a great prospect. No frills midfielder, excellent in the air, good passer and gets around the pitch.

David Pleat singled him out for praise on R5 Live in the Besiktas game.

have seen him a few times now and looks a solid midfielder nothing too fancy but good young talent .. we have some good talents coming through now in centre mid with obrien , wheland and stephen ireland ..

Big Sam Allaydice says he is extremely pleased with Joeys progress, but says he will take him out soon as he doesn't want to overexpose him, as he is so young.

Joey O'Brien is a lanky midfield who has a lovely touch and is an excellent player. Wednesday tried to sign him when the 2nd loan spell came to an end but Bolton wouldn't let him go. I would, without putting the kiss of death on him, have high hopes for him.
