Aye sure they only stopped killing the other week.

If I'm right they are the only loyalist parmilitary group to bomb England....bunch of cowards spent their time bombing NI tourist offices, killed a Catholic taxi driver, a Catholic girl while she slept with her Protestant boyfriend and a Catholic man and a Protestant man because they were having a drink in a bar together, about time they stopped.

Very good news. It shows that in some way steps are being taken towards Northern Ireland becomming a fully democratic and as violence free as possible.

It certainly puts more pressure on the UVF/UDA to do the same. First the IRA, now the LVF.

Good ridence to all of them. They are all scum.

And sure no Catholic ever killed a Protestant up North??

There is a noteable difference in the actions of the loyalist paramilitaires and the Republican ones. Almost all Loyalist activity was sectarian with the sole purpose of creating widespread fear in the Catholic community. I.R.A. e.t.c. did kill innocent people but within the aim of attacking British Forces. I rate all killings as disgraceful but the LVF were an organisation founded on the principle of killing Catholics for be Cathlolics.

What really annoys me about this is the congratulations dissed out by the UUP and DUP to the people who "brought it about" but a few weeks ago Sinn Fein were liars for there part in getting I.R.A. decomissioning. Where is the unionsit pressure on the UVF and UDA and why will they still talk with the PUP?

Well said!
Superfrank where did I say they didn't! I know that 'Catholics' killed Protestants up North-to be honest I don't understand how either could call themselves Catholic or Protestant with "Thou Shalt not kill" as the first commandment! The IRA slaughtered Protestant factory workers at point blank and planted bombs in London during the Christmas shopping.....scum-end of story. Doesn't matter why you do it those ends never justify those means annd the lives the ruined and stole. I wasn't claiming the LVF were ever any worse than the IRA/INLA/RIRA/CIRA.....i mentioned their actions because the thread is about them leaving the scene.....sorry if that didn't come across clearly enough.

On Speranza's point I seem to remember that one loyalist group (can't remember if it was the LVF or not) declared all Catholic school teachers and postmen 'legitimate targets'.....shows how much Northern Ireland ahs moved on :)

There is no point in people on here comparing killers with killers.

I read people saying you can't compare the IRA to thses guys. The IRA had a legitimate reason, the LVF were just bigots.

The IRA killed many of their own people, indeed, more innocent members of the Nationalist/Roman Catholic community than all loyalist scum put together. They put as much fear in "their" own communities as the loyalists.

I would also add since when did the IRA's motives turn to robbery and extortion? Again, no political visions there.

The loyalists are as much hypoctites. They claimed to be for "God and Ulster" but when did God teach the following:

Drugs
Extortion
Prositution
Money Laundering
Blackmail
Murder
Robbery
Gun trafficing etc etc

The answer - never. Fighting for Ulster and "their own" communities, yeah, right. Burning RUC officers from their homes (who they would have regarded mainly as their British Police Force) Then attacking the British Crown's Army. Oh yes, and then forcing those in their areas to pay money to them, and getting young men addicted to drugs so they would have to be loyal to them. Does not computer. No godliness, No protection of their communities. All one big smoke screen for crime.
