Yeah doing well too. Every week there's more stuff for sale and sales are up at "home" games. Merchandise under the old board was, how shall I put it, not done!

Very few actually Dodge, most of us buy stuff at the games. Tends to be exiles and Johnny Foreigners on eBay.

At one of our (sparsely attended) cup games this season we took in €3,000 on merch. Under the previous shower we wouldn't have done that in a season.

BTW Best of luck with the Roddy and Mileson show. ;)

Smart move by Rovers - hope it goes well for them.

Will be interesting to see how many other clubs follow suit - I'd love Derry to do similar.

Sadly there's no programme for the Rovers v Derry game on there, or they'd have had a few quid off me :) . Also - I see they're selling a few of the ROI home programmes - for cheaper than they were available at the games themselves !

we have links with fans from hammarby, cardiff, roma, celtic, sk reid, yeovil, panathanikos, msv duisberg, cliftonville and a few others.
also yanks buy loads of our stuff.
costs the club very little, biggest online marketplace, we know there are people who want our stuff, whats the confusion?

if the benefits outweigh the costs.. and im sure they do, then what harm can it be?

sure it can only benefit the club, even if its only a small gain, its still a gain

why bother developing your own on-line store with the associated security costs etc, when e-bay can do it for you. then simply add a link from your own web.

What security would there be though ? ;) I mean do they have to keep the products in the first place to give to Ebay or direct from Supplier ?

But without being Smart above any club in the LOI Ebay would suit Shams the best for obvious reasons !

now i dont know prices etc., but i'd imagine the security costs associated with storing credit card and banking details would outweigh the % of the e-bay commission. anyway, seeing as it would mainly be exiles that would use the service, i dont think they would mind an extra euro or two added to the p&p. certainly i'd love to see the drogs set up such a shop.

RT - you would be amazed, nay shocked, at what football stuff gets bought out there.

There are literally tens of thousands of people around the world who collect football stuff - usually pin badges and penants. Some also collect items from teams with similar strips to theirs etc etc. But trust me - there's people out there looking to spend dosh on the weirdest things, and ebay is the ideal place to help them do so.

It's a great idea and compared to the costs of setting up, running and maintaining an online shop the charge by Ebay is lesser. If you consider you have to pay for the online shop software, someone to install the software/setup the website, pay for webspace, constantly update/maintain the actual site and I'm sure there another couple of things compared with simply placing an item on Ebay, which is efficient and easily done, and losing what I believe is 3-5% per item it makes sense.
