hurling is one of the most skillful games in the world (and as the great Liam Griffin said-the riverdance of sport).

Jesus, that's a bit harsh isn't it?

Yes it must be up from one player every10 years to one every five years. The GAA is on an irreversible downward spiral. Soon RTE will have to digitally enhance the crowd in at games in Croke Park,
Apart from on All Ireland final days, on days when either Dublin/Tyrone or Armagh are playing, they almost do this now, by their agreement with the GAA to close the Upper Hogan and Upper Cusack for games that attract less than 48000 (I think that is the number, if not it is around that). This 'crowds' in the Lower Hogan and Lower Cusack, which for TV purposes makes the crowd look bigger than it is. The downside for live spectators is that many end up with God awful views from the ends of both stands when the best seats on the Upper decks are empty, a fact made worse by the GAA policy to charge one price for all Hogan/Cusack seats that are available to the public. So for 40 euro you could be on the half way line at the front or on the 13 metre line at the back of either stand.

Way off thread, I know, apologies!
