Swiss squad had 5 domestic based players & still beat our Premiership "stars". Swiss league is ranked 15th in Europe. How many irish players would get in Swiss team?


Goalkeepers: Pascal Zuberbühler (FC Basel), Fabio Coltorti (Grasshoppers Zurich)

Defenders: Philipp Degen (Borussia Dortmund), Ludovic Magnin (Stuttgart), Patrick Mueller (FC Basel), Philippe Senderos (Arsenal), Boris Smiljanic (FC Basel), Christoph Spycher (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Midfielders: Tranquillo Barnetta (Bayer Leverkusen), Ricardo Cabanas (Grasshoppers Zurich), Daniel Gygax (Lille), Benjamin Huggel (Eintracht Frankfurt), Johann Vogel (AC Milan), Raphael Wicky (Hamburg)

Forwards: Alex Frei (Rennes), Mauro Lustrinelli (FC Thun), Johan Vonlanthen (Breda)

BTW I'm a supporter of Lille, and Daniel GYGAX plays here; I'm just mad that he is absolutly crap playing for his club and was quite brilliant for Switzerland during the qualifications... let's see what he does next week against MU in old trafford in CL, hope he improved :D sorry For the "Off topic"

Degan, Spycher, Gygax, and Huggel were all playing in the Swiss league within the last 2 seasons....
