1-0 to the Boys in Green.
Swiss only need a draw so may play with 5 across the middle and pack the defence when we push forward....reckon we'll sneek 1 goal to win!!

I second that 2-1 to us over the choccy makers.
I don't think Kenny or Ritchie can keep a clean sheet, but I fancy Keano to get the finger out and break the 7 match duck and Clinto to get the late winner..
Bling bling Clinto, no cubic zirconia for him :)

Ditto!
1-1. Heartbreaking and will actually be a decent performance. Not good enough, but better than Cyprus (could it be worse?).

Nice cushy arrangement there between the Swiss and UEFA.

Once we get Northern Irish officials when we make the playoffs that will be fine. Oh wait a second....

We've had NI officials down here for the Setanta Cup and they're brutal!
Have no idea how of the rules.
It's unlikely UEFA will use any of them in a game of any consequence.

I think Kingdom was making a different point altogether Peadar.
Illustrating a complexity and dynamic in Swiss-German relations of which we are most likely blissfully unaware and probably best compared to the widely held belief among Danish supporters back in nov 93 that the North would let us **** all over them in Belfast because "..sure aren't they all Irish";)

Predictions, awh well in a shock turnabout of form ireland stun Switzerland with a comprehesive 3-0 win. A goal from Morrisson, a 44 minute strike by Reid and a debut goal for Kevin Doyle at the death give Ireland a shock place in the world cup finals. This is due to France being STUNNED at home after leading one nil for most of the game, Cyprus won a penalty and scored, giving France a playoff place. Brian Kerr was unavailable afterwards, but he was quoted as saying "Can't wait to see the Indo tomorrow lads".
*sigh* ....

The officials against France were German and they were total rubbish.

Thanks I think Lionel. God I'm confused now. I was taking the p!ss in my previous post on this topic. I'd imagine there would be some kind of friction between the German German and the Swiss German.
Tbh I'm hedging my bets, and none of this would have to be contemplated if FIFA had of given us Kazakh officials.

Well, there's certainly a good relationship between the Germans and Austrians if Anschluss (unfortunate example, I know) and the West Germany-Austria game in the World Cup finals of 1982 were anything to go by. I can't see it being much different where the Swiss are concerned.

I thought the Austrians sent the Germans home with a late winner. With supposed friends like that ...
I think it'd be hilarious if somewhere out there on a Swiss/Austrian?German board they were talking about ourselves the English and the Welsh as if we were all the bloody same -just in different colour jerseys.

No - Algeria led Group B with four points having beaten West Germany 1-0 in an earlier game. The only result that would ensure the Germans and Austria qualified instead was a 1-0 win for West Germany. They scored after about fifteen minutes and then both sides just trotted around as if it was a playground kickabout. Disgusting.
