Galway United .... 2-0 . Kilkenny Town .. RES:D :D
O'Dowd 32
Harty 85

Two great goals..... Harty's was top-notch, O'Brien rounded
two players, layed it off to Mixie, he rounded a player or two
then smashed it into the bottom left corner....nice!
And I won a ticket to the Swiss game....nice!:D :D

Galway end Kilkenny promotion hopes

Kilkenny Town's outside hopes of promotion were ended tonight as
Galway United won 2-0 at Terryland Park. The win keeps alive the
Tribesmen's own outside chances of second place.

The deadlock was broken on 32 minutes when Alan O'Donovan played
in David O'Dowd and he did to get into the box and finish.

Galway came close to grabbing a second after half-time but Colin
Fortune had a shot pushed onto the woodwork while Phillip Reilly
shot against the upright.

The second goal arrived on 85 minutes and saw off Kilkenny hopes.
Mixie Harty gained possession of the ball before cutting through the
Kilkenny defence and then clipped the ball coolly past Kilkenny keeper
Mike Clohosey.

great result for Galway

Even through Galway have had a s**t season they are still only 6 points of second place.

Well done lads. Big game next week now, at least we will have levine back or will we. Is there any supporters club in dublin for Utd fans.

Galway United 2-0 Kilkenny City
Galway United enjoyed a comfortable home win against Kilkenny City to keep their slim promotion hopes alive.

Both sides were tied just outside the group of clubs expected to make a push for promotion and this win helps Galway leapfrog Kilkenny and stay on the coattails of those eyeing up the premier division.

The home side took the lead just after the half hour when David O’Dowd was on hand to fire home past Kilkenny’s Mark Clohessy after good work from Alan O’Donovan.

Kilkenny kept battling away and it was only minutes from time that Galway made all three points safe as Mixie Harty doubled the advantage with a fine individual effort

2 good goals alrite. if only disco could have shown that much composure when he was with us. dat keane fella looks a decent player. although galway had da majority of da play i didn't see much to worry about for next week. when kilkenny actually got goin they look da better side(especially der no.11) but overall don't look very confident . harty seems to be ur only consistent player, if he's missing next week it will be a loss. 80% of ur singin was about us. i don't think we've ever sang a song about galway(bcos we don't care bout ye) apart from "EASY, EASY, EASY". pitch was immaculate as per usual, best in da country

Don't flatter yourself we only sang about yee because of the match next week and at least we do sing.Your right about Harty he will be a massive loss but how did ya think that kilkenny were the better team,Goughie didn't have one save and we hit the post and crossbar.

i didn't mean it like that. i just taut when they got goin(very rare) their passing was crisper&looked like if they had a bit of confidence they could have won the game but galway totally deserved the win&dominated for about 65mins. many ppl have been discussing the lack of atmosphere in the showgrounds but(ever since the shed re-opened) the atmosphere has been far better than it was last nite in terryland&that's not bullsh*t
