PREMIER
Drogs v Shams
Dundalk v Sligo
Shels v Bohs
Pat's v Derry
Galway v Waterford

A rare opportunity for supporters of FD clubs to watch some Premier football. League leaders Bohs make the short journey to Tolka Park. Second placed Pat's host Derry. Sligo, who still occupy the early playoff spot, travel away to an impressive newly promoted Dundalk.

Seen it on facebook earlier that tolka park is sold out which is great to see!

Yep, failed to get an away ticket yet again, never thought I’d see it in loi to be honest, allocations snapped up within a few minutes.

Bohs match preview say DJT is out with a knee injury. At least we know he's alive and we may see him at some point this season

VM2 showing Galway v Waterford. I'll probably mix watching Tolka Park or Inchicore on LOITV and VM2.

Shels v Bohs is a Tolka all seater "sold-out" which is about 3,500. Bohs will have about 800 away allocation so another 5,000+ attendance is expected!

Pats v Derry is a massive game for Derry . Pats have had a good start and even losing will still have them right there but Derry losing will pitch them further into crises. Its probably a bit much to talk of crises considering they are a whole 4 points behind Rovers right now but after tonight that could be more and 5 of 7 games played at home.Tiernan Lynch is safe enough for now, zero point in allowing a manager to sign a massive number of new player and then sack him before giving them all a chance to settle down but its going to be uncomfortable

Still a bit sceptical of us. We've been flat track bullies a bit under Kenny so despite the good run and Derry toiling I'm still wary. Hopefully the Shels result is a sign that we're capable of getting results against the top sides in the league.

Disagree on both points actually. Losing in Inchicore, for any team, isn't the end of the world or reason to call for a manager's head.
Our home form is though. I accept that's it's Phil O'Doherty's call, but it must be hard to ignore the booing every game.

Give that Bohs allocation of 1,000 sold out in ten minutes , would be interested at this late stage to get my hands on one if those 200 spare away tickets.

Ok so Im going to test my 'luck' theory that Ive ridiculously developed while in hospital and watching Dundalk the last 2 years. I have yet to see Dundalk win live since Drogheda 2024. Coincidences in the time after, not being able to watch much of 2025 bar 3 live and we lost or conceded late. The same so far this season. Didnt watch Waterford live, tuned in when 1 up against Galway, switch off at 2-1, finished 2-2, St Pats game watched too. Switched off when I though game in Tallaght was done when 1 down still so late. Soooo tonight lets see again.Tough watch in Oriel. Turned over to see 2 Waterford goals. Might just watch the rest of that game!! Soooo many goals being rattled in around the league, you'd think we have a bit of an issue finding top quality young consistent goal scorers. Flicked back to Dundalk game and low and behold we are 1 up and in that few seconds Dervin is sent off....hardly scientific but ffs. Galway went 3-2 watching and that suits. Are we any closer to figuring out paragraphing or formatting issues?

Shels v Bohs , Bohs by far the better team in the first half. Second half a dead rubber. Boyd hauled Hickey down twic.e and got away with both. Wood swung out of a Bohs player and didn't get a yellow because the game carried on for three minutes. Then the co com says Reynolds will be the happier of the two managers. O'Brien will be glad of that point at home.

Dreasdul match in drogheda.Rovers were poor, missed the calmness of pico and cleary playing out from the back. To many hoofed balls to no one

Waterford now conceded 9 in 2 and 12 in 3 I think. For all the comments on JC Ball, I think the pitch undid them a few times on the break and having to check back rather than drive at defenders due to the ball bobbling up. Who called Daly being sacked first in predictions? In Oriel its was generally even in terms of little happening. Nasty enough injury to O'Kane, hopefully a dislocation that can be easily reduced rather than a break of the arm. Only saw the penalty after the game and it was a penalty even if a soft one. Sligo hitting the bar earlier. So 6 point weekend, gains on all bar Galways tonight and 4th spot. Should be greedy but the 4 points let slip would be very nice to have on the board. Go mad with flares and get league cancelled now...Who ran the length of the pitch from Bohs staff(?) to get involved in the prematch scuffle. Peace was breaking out and keeper and an other being separated until this guy ran around the back of the huddle from the other half of the pitch. No need and surprised there wasnt a booking though the refs may not even have been out.

Hard to argue that Daryl Horgan isnt the best performer so far in the league.

Obviously delighted with that win, and only club to get 6 points Fri / Mon, but have to admit Sligo did not deserve to lose that game.

Dundalk were off colour most / large parts of the game and lost the MF too much, the red was also deserved too, stupid by Dervan, who actually had a decent game. I wasn't sure about the pen, but on looking back at highlights, Fitzgerald def uses his left arm to push Kenny, ref had no hesitation.

Up to 4th, which is a bit flattering, but usually teams who win 5-0 and win back to back games are generally clear of relegation, so hopefully we can consolidate further, early days but a very good start by Dundalk to the new season.

We should have been ahead before the penalty and should have gotten a penalty ourselves at the end when someone followed through on McManus into the chest when clearing the ball. As much a penalty as the one given was. 3 goals in 7 games tells you everything about where our problems lie. Amazing save by Minogue from McElroys header at the start of the second half.

Was amazed Sligo didn't go down the wings more in second half and esp after the red card, that would have tired out the Dundalk defence, but that said clever by Kilduff putting on extra centre half when Dervan was sent off, and sacrificing a MF player.

The constant shoot on site by Sligo was never going to trouble Dundalk in the last 15.

Virgin Media picked the right game to show anyway. Great game but unfortunately not even a point for Waterford so bottom of table still. We are way too open and too many individual mistakes at back. Hopefully Kevin Long signing will improve the defence.
Fleetwood owners have been ruthless in getting rid of managers at Waterford and Fleetwood so Daly could be running out of time.

VM picked the right game alright. Never doubted their match selection choice! ;-)

Sligo and Waterford are now a bit adrift of the rest. Their next few fixtures are tough.

Watched Sligo vs Drogheda and Dundalk. Hard to see them staying adrift. They are a good side.

Apart from the opening two games (one vs helpless Waterford), Drogheda are looking very average. Alarm bells must be ringing there.

Should also be noted that 11 of the 15 players Dundalk used last night were playing 1st Division ball last year. Teehan is a starter that was missing too.

Shout out to Chief O'Keeffe who has reinvented himself as an excellent center half.

Hard to see Cornwall get into the starting 11 ahead of Mayowa, Chief, and Leonard.

Also really love what Buckley brings.

A game of very few chances in Inchicore last night. Derry seemed to set up shop and try hit Pats on the counter and seemed content enough with a point. Akinyemi offered nothing up top, Thomas looked more dangerous when he came on but overall a quiet night for Anang. Pats might’ve nicked it at the end with a couple off the line in two goalmouth scrambles but if they’re the best chances of the game probably tells you that a draw was a fair result. Pats missed Leavy big time in attack, who generally occupies two defenders on his own which creates space for others. All in all 4 points from the weekend is a good return considering Leavy, Lennon, Forrester, Elbouzedi and Power were all out injured

Allowing the match to restart while Derry had 12 men on the pitch was peak incompetence (though thats possibly more on the 4th official) Imagine if Derry had scored while having the extra man ?

On the game, thought we were slightly the better side, and should have had a penalty late on, but not many chances in the game overall. Thomas had a one on one with the keeper (having fouled Hoare in the build up and getting away with it) that you'd expect him to put away.

A mess from the officials, who then booked Clarke, even though it was the fourth official who told him to go on the pitch to begin with.

Will take that result all day long. Said I'd be happy with a clean sheet across the two games, and we got it. Low bar, but we needed that confidence boost.

Drogs on Friday is big for Lynch.

See Sligo is complaining about the Ref from Monday.

I dont really understand it. Fitzgerald clearly trips him. He is caught too close as Kenny is turning.

There are many times complaining about the Ref is correct, but this ain't one.

.

A mess by the officials yes, but i just dont believe that no one on the Derry bench spotted the error - if they didn't, its a serious level of incompetence. By pure coincidence, apparently its not the first time this season that Derry accidentially had 12 players on the pitch.

Derry made 3 subs at the same time. 4th official put up the same number twice meaning Markey was unaware he was being substituted.
When the officials noticed, Markey duely went off and got booked for not leaving the field of play when substituted (he didn't know).

Instead of the 4th official explaining this to the ref, he allowed Markey take the hit.

Mistakes can happen by the officials but come on, take some responsibility some of the time.

You would think in those circumstances the yellow card could be rescinded if Derry appealed , but then again it’s the LOI

Unfortunately you cannot appeal yellow cards.

More of a reason for the 4th official to have manned up at the time.

I thought the booking was because he DID leave the field of play without having been instructed to. Even though leaving was the correct thing to do, he hadn't received an instruction from an official. Bit of a catch 22.
